Exactly. We still have 300 or so Americans a day dying from this. When we get down to 20 or so, maybe we can start to relax. Maybe.

I.e., we’re starting to exit the “pandemic” phase of the virus infection; and we’re entering the “endemic” phase. (Endemics are persistently present within a population, but usually don’t have explosive growth). To the general public, however, saying the “pandemic is over” might sound like “COVID is pretty much done.” Perhaps Biden should have chosen his words more carefully.
And, yeah, let’s see what happens in the fall and winter.

I’ve just gotten my 2nd booster (my 4th shot overall).

Lucky you. Moderna gives me the arm rash, aches and pains, fever in and out for two days or so.
Still better than the hospital is how I console myself. 
People really need to stop messing around with these viruses! They are only going to make things worse.
