Corona and other diseases

Let’s not count chickens before they’re hatched. Let’s see what happens this winter first in hospitalizations and deaths versus previous years, then make an assessment.

Exactly. We still have 300 or so Americans a day dying from this. When we get down to 20 or so, maybe we can start to relax. Maybe.

Anthony Fauci said something similar back in April. But he then had to clarify that he was using the terminology in a technical sense. I.e., we’re starting to exit the “pandemic” phase of the virus infection; and we’re entering the “endemic” phase. (Endemics are persistently present within a population, but usually don’t have explosive growth). To the general public, however, saying the “pandemic is over” might sound like “COVID is pretty much done.” Perhaps Biden should have chosen his words more carefully. :nono: And, yeah, let’s see what happens in the fall and winter.

I’ve just gotten my 2nd booster (my 4th shot overall). ;nd

He needs to say it now for mid-terms and 2024 election. It’s definitely not over but it would look bad for Dems if they say it’s still going on by the time we get to mid-terms and eventually 2024 election.

I was thinking of waiting until Halloween or so to get next boosted. Don't want to do it too early.

Reactions: Dr.
Scheduled my second booster for a week from today. Here's to two days of misery after. :( :p

Got my booster yesterday. Had the Pfizer shot the first 3 times and the second and third time I got fever/chills/nausea for a few hours the next day so went with the Moderna this time. It's been almost 24 hours and the only symptom I've had is a slightly sore arm at the injection site.

Lucky you. Moderna gives me the arm rash, aches and pains, fever in and out for two days or so. :( Still better than the hospital is how I console myself. :)

Got my 4th shot. First time monderna.

Gulping water like a fremen to hope to avoid a headache tomorrow.
