Given that corruption has been a theme in both BB and TDK, I think an interesting and topical turn for the third movie would be to get into corporate corruption, a far greater problem in this day and age than cop corruption. And I think this movie, if Riddler and Catwoman end up being the villains, would be a great theme to be part of the script. Maybe Ed Nigma is from the creative department of a company - maybe a creator of computer games, like he is in TAS - who´s bent on revenge on his former associate, whose companies have arms in all sorts of things in Gotham, putting a large piece of the population in danger. And maybe Catwoman is looking to exercise the Robin Hood aspect of her persona, maybe stealing from that same associate.

In the background it could work very well as a theme, though I don't know if I'd want it to be the main narrative drive. But certainly it'd be good to see Gotham corrupt on every level.

I'd love to see a bit of corporate corruption. The Joker really opened the flood gates of hell in TDK. We should see some serious escalation.

it was really a minor theme in the two movies, more in the first one though at the start, but i don't believe it would make interesting viewing IMO

I like the corporate corruption theme. I think that it would be interesting to see Bruce Wayne struggling with his company. This had been vaguely hinted at in TDK when Fox had been talking to Reese.

:awesome:

Corporate corruption theme is so 1980s but it can still work very well if done right....but for this I like then for Black Mask to be the main villian....cause he is a rich buisnessman like Bruce Wayne and he is also a gangster.

How about 'social resurrection'? Batman is in hiding for a while, the various gang factions whom Joker decapitated run amok and fight it out in the streets, police corruption increases out of both greed and fear/protection, federal government tries to step in (perhaps starting by shutting down the entire power grid...hoping it will 'calm everyone down', when in fact it does the opposite), anarchy ensues as society turns against itself in the dog-eat-dog atmosphere, setting up.......

....or they could just go with the insider-trading, shoddy-bookkeeping, junk-bonds angle.

Lol Batman riding on a horse?...what age will that be?...1700s?...TKDR needs to be in its own universe.

Last I checked, people still ride horses today, too. And if, say, an EMP takes out every piece of technology/machinery rendering them non-functional, it might just be the quickest way to get around. :O

I always thought if they went with Catwoman she could be involved in corporate espionage within Wayne Enterprises.

Nolan is the one director that could make this poster become a reality. I can not begin to describe how epic this poster is. Definitely the best that I've ever seen. The poster is extremely quirky and odd but in a good way. The Dark Knight Returns is expected and the title of a graphic novel so don't count on Nolan using that. Could you replace 'The Dark Knight Returns' with The Dark Legend or Gotham Legend?

The poster would be an advantage of sorts for a literature based movie. There aren't many good literature to screen adaptations if any. I think that Nolan should probably direct a literature to screen adaptation. Few have such directing talent.

Corporate corruption is 1980´s? How about Enron, Lehman Brothers, Madoff? What do you think that is when companies lie about their results?

Not at all, it was a pretty crucial theme to the plot in both movies. How do yo think Harvey and Rachel were kidnapped? What was Two-Face was taking revenge for?

I'd leave the corporate corruption with political consequences theme for Superman... Lex Luthor and all. Though the Catwoman as corporte spy idea sounds like quite a cool concept. I'd put Wrath as an anti-Batman vigilante profiting on Bats' wanted status and Two Face's murders to kill cops and Riddler being an alias for a federal agent wanting to take Bats down, who profits' from Wrath's presence to expose him to the media. That and add a new corrupt and mob-controlled DA.
