Could 2008 really be the best for comic books films to date?

Iron Man was pretty much awesome

The Incrediable Hulk from the reviews so far is shaping up to be a succes year for marvel studios.

Hellboy 2 looks really good and probally even better that the first one.

The Dark Knight...Well that all i really have to say with that.

The only 2 Im hoping will make this year great is Punisher War Zone and The Spirit.

So who has this same thought?

Punisher is going to suck...but other than that it looks like this year is going to be one of, if not THE, best.

^Whatever. IMO,I think you're only saying that because you aren't a Punisher fan at all.

2008 is most definitely the year of the superhero

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Boy, you have no idea what you're talking about. I have every single issue of The Punisher, from Circle of Blood, all the way up to the current MAX series. He's my favorite marvel character (note I don't say hero, as he's not a hero...he's a villain who just happens to target other villains...a killer of killers). Hell, I even have Punisher MAX #1 signed by Tim Bradstreet.

I own the 1989 Punisher movie, the 2004 Punisher movie, and even Dolph looks better than this mockery of the character they're making with War Zone. The script reads like a high school kid trying to imitate Ennis, plot lines lead nowhere, useless characters from the 80's like Microchip are brought back (and not just to be violently killed as in Ennis' run). It's a train wreck of Catwoman like proportions.

People ask if every year is the best.

Real answer is: Too soon to tell.

Predicted answer: Not really. Iron Man is good, but not THAT good. The movie is a bit overrated. Hulk looks like crap. As for TDK...it looks awesome. So, in conclusion 2008 is just another year.

I completley disagree with you about Hulk. It looks about a bajillion times better than the Ang Lee version, and might be the best Hulk related media since the 70's show.

It may be better than Ang Lee's version. It may be the best Hulk related media since the 1970s show. But it still doesn't look all that good. I'll most likely go see the movie, but I'm only expecting something that may be "alright".

All the advance screenings have been saying it's great. And come on, Edward Norton, and Tim Roth...and the new trailer uses Lonely Man! Lonely Man damn it! Lonely Man! The greatest superhero theme ever composed! And Tony Stark cameo! I'm not even a big Hulk fan and I'm excited for this...

Although, it would be better if he went on a rampage in New York, killed a fat man, stole his pants, yelled about how horny he was for Betty, and then threatened to smash Freddie Prinz Jr. Man...I want an accurate Ultimates movie...that would be so f**king awesome...

Maybe you're right. But...I don't know. I haven't seen the new trailer with the Lonely Man theme but the other trailers and tv spots haven't impressed me.

It's the third trailer, it's up online, you should check it out. It even has a voice over that's very similar to the 70's show. And the orchestral version of Lonely Man is awesome.

Point takend,I apologize. Well,I am glad that you can see the coolness that is The Punisher. :word:
IMO,I think Ray looks pretty good as The Punisher in Punisher:Warzone,I don't think the story sounds bad,but it doesn't sound good either, but I will still watch it anyways. To me,he looks more fitting as The Punisher than Jane did.

Well, at least they're using one of the best scenes from the Ultimates Vol. 1 final battle: Banner dropping from the helicopter turning into Hulk in mid-air.

Only problem is Sam LJ probably won't be there to deliver "Hell of a thud for a skinny scientist." (or however that goes) :csad:

Ray Stevenson should've been Juggernaut. :o

I like Stevenson, but he looks like an aging Steven Segal in all the pictures of him they've released...not a good thing...

I still only think he looks like him in the first pic that was released.

Also, the poster looks like a jellyfish :(

Yes, way to take one of the many complaints I have about it, single it out, and fail to address the rest. You've truely changed my opinion of the movie with your well thought out, and may I add timely, argument.

Let's of course fail to mention the script where they seemed to just throw several random elements from Ennis run together and hope it formed a narrative (it doesnt), the fact that they're adding useless characters like Microchip who are so outdated that it's not even funny, and that other than Stevenson the entire cast is made of nobodies, as is the director. And speaking of her, let's also mention the fact that her blog posts make it sound like she knows nothing of this character, but is pretending to very very much.

I agree with your post, but I object to the bolded part.

you forgot about Wanted....err...nevermind.

2011 will be the best. Cap, Avengers, Batman 3. WOOT!

But they might all suck. As there isn't even a script yet for any of them, it's impossible to make any prediction of their quality.
