Sequels Could Fox make a deal with Sony for a Spider-Man F4 crossover?

As great as it is that Marvel is digging into their catalogue of superheroes to bring to life, to be quite honest, I really don't care about any of that; as long as Spiderman, the flagship character, is being kept separate from all of it. It is the equivalent of Warner Bros making their DCCU without a Batman in it; obviously they can and will would never do it without him but them doing that, is what Marvel is doing (and doing a marvelous job) but it's making me personally care less because Spiderman is not a part of it.

And I will forever more say the reason Spiderman's popularity has diminished is because of his absence and subsequent separation from the mcu.

I realize that, but since things are different now (we are living in an age where finally superheroes are crossing paths in movies) they should all work together.

I've been thinking for a while that Sony and Marvel will cut a deal to put Spidey in the MCU post Avengers 3. The disappointing box office returns for ASM 2 and the riskiness of the villain spin-off films have made me more confident that it will happen before the end of the decade.

I will admit that maybe I'm not quite as bothered by it because my favorite character ended up becoming the new flagship character. If my favorite character was say...Reed Richards, I might be a bit more frustrated.

& this is how much Disney / MARVEL hates fox. Willing to cancel an entire Comic Book run just to tell fox to **** off & I wonder if this means no Fantastic Four in other media as well ?

What's been giving you that thought?

Flagship character is defined probably by popularity and by now that's Iron Man. Due in no small part to his films, and involvement in MCU.

I don't know what you're talking about...

Yep. Iron Man has been my favorite character for 25 years. It is a good time to be an Iron Man fan.

Economics. Marvel will be looking for a new star attraction for its Avengers franchise post Avengers 3 when at least two members of the Big 3 (and Whedon) will be history. And while I don't have a lot of confidence in the future success of Sony's ASM franchise, I have even less in the villains spinoffs.

I have long thought that a deal in which Sony produces Spider-Man solo features with Disney/Marvel featuring the character in the next series of Avengers films makes a lot of sense. Use Miles Morales (Marvel may control the character but not his secret identity) to separate you from the first six or seven Sony Spidey films and this could prove profitable to both studios.

They'll get right on doing this the day after Half Life 3 comes out.

Avengers 4 is a long way off man. By then they may even unfortunately reboot Spidey again.

But I thought a lot of people were generally excited for Sinister 6? What's giving you doubts about it?

And Miles Morales isn't mainstream enough in my opinion to bring him into a cinematic universe let alone adaptation. Spiderman himself has not been solid for a while so he needs to be brought into good light first like Batman.

it has been for the past 2 years
:word:

I still harbour this fantasy of end end credits scene with Spidey in TA2. Imagine if Sony and Marvel cut a deal, would be fantastic to see.

Spider-Man and Fantastic Four in 1 movie would excite me!
Fantastic Four and X-Men in 1 movie would excite me!
X-Men and Spider-Man in 1 movie would excite me!
Spider-Man, Fantastic Four and X-Men in 1 movie would excite me!

But I don't see them happening ever.

If Fox has F4 rights, and Sony has Spider-Man rights, then I don't think a film that has both Fox and Sony credited wouldn't be able to cross them over.

it's not a dumb idea, it was dumb of him of him to say it is though :o

Have teh F4 be beloved heroes in a world where those with superpowers are mistrusted and discriminated against? Yeah, that is a pretty dumb idea.
