Could Herkules hold a monthly title?

You could be right? But with Black Panther working so far why not look for a good team for the character and give him 8-12 issue mini and if it works turn the mini into a ongoing series?

Nah. He doesn't have the starpower for it. Moon Knight at least was like, a cult hit in the comic community. You know, one of those obscure characters actually everybody loves, but he remains obscure?

Wow, what a bunch of naysayers. There's no reason that a great character like Hercules couldn't carry a title with the right concept/creative team. There's absolutely no reason why they couldn't "She-Hulk" Herc.

Maybe the question you should be asking is what you'd like to see in a Hercules ongoing, and who would you like to write/draw it.

I'm a big Kolins fan, and he did a great Herc in Thor: Blood Oath. As for writing, I would want someone who came up with a killer concept. Not necessarily a gimmick (like the reality tv thing), but just a solid direction as to what the tone of the book should be, what kind of "world" to put him in(Mt. Olympus, space, Avengers, Heroes for Hire, past/present/future), supporting characters. Maybe Peter David, maybe some young whippersnapper that we've never heard of.

It'd have to totally reform what Hercules is about. Delve deep into his origin etc and have a great artist on it for momentus earth-shattering battles. then you'd have a chance.
Also if Brubaker, Bendis or Millar was on it then it'd sell no matter what. It could be done.

Yeah, which is why Marvel backpedalled and made it a mini. Some characters just can't carry a solo title. I think Hercules is one of them.

Welllll, he does now. I'm willing to bet most people (including editors when it was pitched to Marvel) were scratching their heads and saying "Seriously? the Multiple Man?" when Madrox first came out.
