It's quite clear that The Dark Knight had an influence in Obama's win for the presidency. Joker has a theme of class animosity and it's very possible these themes will be a deciding favor in who votes for who in next years election. At the very least, it will get the video game players to go out and vote.

I cannot honestly say I think anyone will watch this movie and be like "you know what that really helped me make my mind on who I am voting for next year"

Oh dear.. If so, US are really some stupid sheep.

Who knows. We elected Trump and JFK has the highest approval rating of any president in our country’s history.

Guts, you beautiful bastard...

Nah, Superhero Movie's going to have a comeback in popularity that'll overtake it. Candidates will be falling over themselves to try and get its fans onboard.

Well... The answer of course is not in any directly significant manner.

Ripple wise anything that can lead to a public discourse on cable news could lead to some back/forth but I think influence wise personal factors weigh in more heavily for most..

Still... For Indulgement's Sake, It's Interesting to Note the Following Play Out:
Following the Telegraph inciting a walk-out from Joaquin Phoenix an influx of interviews asking about the potential of the movie to incite violence. The Aurora families of course wrote to WB prompting WB to issue a statement I believe on September 24th. Robert Deniro in a talk show appearance gives away a spoiler for what happens to his character... This of course followed by his comments in this interview perhaps expressing consternation:

At some point of course Todd Phillips frustrated by the press gives a remark about criticism: ‘Joker’ director Todd Phillips slams ‘far-left’ outrage: ‘It’s really been eye-opening’ Following this Warner's cancelled the Green Carpet press invite for opener (the director at this opener really making an effort in brief sole press interview emphasizing how great it was to have Robert Deniro on set). Since then another comment has emerged about not able to do comedies. This of course has incited a reply from Mark Maron Marc Maron Disagrees With 'Joker' Director's About 'Woke Culture'

I would go so far as to say that The Joker movie will be the only reason that whoever comes out on top in the election wins it.

We live in a clown world. The establishment candidate will not win in 2020. It will be someone who has helped the average American, who has increased employment for all ethnicities and genders. Not a politician who talks a good talk but gets things done.

I mean, Joaquin Phoenix has a better chance at getting the nomination than Tulsi Gabbard, so why not jump in the race? What’s one more candidate?

Will there ever be another election that isn’t determined by the events in a Batman film?

Lex Luthor became president in 2016. So Joker influencing 2020 seems entirely possible.
