I was just thinking that with the Hail to the King short implying that there was possibly a real Mandarin out there and that the Ten Rings weren't simply a front for AIM and Killian that there's not many places a real Mandarin could be introduced in the MCU. I thought that maybe SHIELD could provide a good possibility to introduce him as a big bad of a future season, but then I thought that Agent Carter could also provide some opportunity also.

I think introducing Mandarin would provide a notable villain from the comics for Agent Carter and Howard Stark to fight. Having Stark in the mix keeps it in the family since he's most notably an Iron Man villain. Plus the Ten Rings could take the place of opposing enemy spy organisation for any potential season Mandarin could be introduced in.

I wouldn't really waste the real Mandarin on an 8 or 9 episode tv show but they could make the Mandarin an Inhuman with powers similar to his daughter Jiyaing & also Skye's grandfather on Agents of SHIELD. Introduce him on Agent Carter but continue the story with The Mandarin on Agents Of SHIELD that way the story could span decades.

The above is a what if scenario, a theory that was never established to be true, but could be a possible way to work The Mandarin into both shows.

Can't say I fancy that scenario. No need to mix him up with the Inhumans. Makes things feel too inter-related. We already have Mr. Hyde as Skye's dad and an Inhuman mother. Keep his ten rings alien tech imo. No need for innate powers.

Mandarin could be the job tittle of the leader of the Ten Rings rather then some ones actual name. So they could easily have a different one in Carters time.

Comic Mandarin has powers similar to Karnak. Making him an Inhuman actually wouldn't be much of a stretch in some ways.

In terms of character it would. It would be a waste to see the possibility of a Mandarin more like the comic version be squandered only for them to mess with his character again. I liked Iron Man 3, but I'd rather not see them needlessly mess with Mandarin if they were ever to introduce a more recognisable version of the character in the MCU.

Nah. I'd rather see Yellow Claw because he makes more sense for that time period.

They set so,wthing really interesting with "all hail the king," it'd be a shame to just leave it hanging like that.
