So, how much longer do you guys think these forums will be up till they are taken down and all Punisher stuff will be moved to the misc. marvel forums? I know the V for Vendetta and 300 forums lasted a little over a month after release till they we're removed, or is this place is going to stay open till it's released in all the big foreign markets? Was it ever released in England and Europe yet?

I have a feeling that it will be gone right after the dvd is released.
I wish the hype would keep it opened. I like coming to the Punisher boards.

Punisher's got a steady comic line though, I don't think there's any more V for Vendetta or 300 issues coming out. I know that's the same case with Captain America and such, but I hope they let Punisher last a bit longer.

Or maybe a sequel will be announced after the first week on rental breaks all records and the forum will limp on. Huzzah!

300 is supposedly getting a sequel from Frank Miller though. It will probably suck.

I didn't think The Spirit looked worth seeing. I've never read the comics, so the only reason I would have had to go see it was if I thought it looked good. It looked like Sin City, so I didn't.

I thought Sin City was a lot of fun, so if you didn't like that, you probably REALLY won't like Spirit. Unless you're one of those people who desparately goes against the grain. There's nothing really to like about the Spirit.

I did really like Sin City. It was great. The reason I said I'd seen Sin City is because The Spirit looked identical, and subpar to Sin City. I decided not to ruin that style of movie for the future.

Rodriguez used every frame from the comic. EVERY FRAME! No matter what you think of The Spirit movie, you cannot deny that Miller knows how to frame a scene. That is just ignorant.

I'd guess he mostly dealt with some of the performances and just watched Rodriguez on the framing of shots.

Rodriguez used every frame from the comic. EVERY FRAME! No matter what you think of The Spirit movie, you cannot deny that Miller knows how to frame a scene. That is just ignorant.

There's WAY more to directing than positioning the camera and yelling go. You have to make sure everyone is giving their best performance, you have to make sure they mesh well, and you need to be collaborating with your DoP. I don't think that Miller got especially good performances out of anyone in the Spirit, not that they could do much with the confusing dialogue.

bad reviews and poor box office performance do not nessercerly make a movie crap,

look at Blade runner and Last action hero , both now are considered good....

Blade runner , "Classic" even. dont get me wrong this does not happen often , but none the less......

why i think war zone will be given cult status over time, is that its super violent as well as knowing its an "ever so slighty" silly movie......

slagging of war zone is fine to me , to a degree it deserves it (as stated above), but if you happen to be a punisher fan as in a serious one, it's a great movie!

because (if for nothing else) its far more faithful to the comic than any punisher movie before it........

I am a serious Punisher fan, you gimp, but I also happen to have a brain that operates on a level above "hnh, he shootz peeps - LOLZ!!!!111!!"

It's a BAD MOVIE. I can love the character as much as I want - it's still a BAD movie. A "serious" Punisher fan should be furious that they've degraded the character yet again. It's not faithful in the slightest - Jane's Punisher was a better translation of the character. Stevenson's just a big man with a gun.

And Last Action Hero? It's still considered garbage - because it is. At least it was well made, unlike War Zone.

Blade Runner still splits opinion between those who love it and those who think it's boring. I love it, but it's is a genuine rarity that opinion transformed it over time. And nothing helped it more than the Director's Cut.

Let's, for a moment, consider the efforts Garth Ennis has made in the last five years to give the character some credibility.

1) he moved him away from the Marvel Universe
2) he chose different and unusual artists to illustrate his stories
3) he dealt with darker, more serious themes than before
4) he expanded the Punisher's personality in both the main series and a series of unusual, well written and highly intelligent one-shots (as well as Born)
5) He gave some context to his actions by explaining the working of Castle's mind.

He did this because, if The Punisher just "points then shoots" he is nothing more than a gun and run type character, which the cinema going audience have almost no interest in.

The Punisher got cancelled in the 90s because he had become silly. He was resurrected by being tongue in cheek then completely reinvigorated by being taken seriously.

You are the one who wants the character to be something he's not.

The proof that I'm right and you're wrong? Noone wants to see this lame film - not because he isn't a popular enough character - but because he's not popular enough to sell on that alone.

Fuc* the critics and box office, I loved PWZ and everyone I know personally loved it. Im sure Rogue as well as I are sick of listening to the million and one reasons why you didnt like it. You didnt like it, use your almighty wiseman knowledge and go make a punisher movie yourself and stop the critic crap, we know you did not like it. There is a difference between voicing your oppinion and tearing a movie apart.
