Have you guys noticed that there are really, REALLY bad shows that manage to get an healthy fan base but are very senative if you criticize the show? It's sad but at the same time VERY funny.

For instance, those crappy Disney shows are a good example. Good luck telling a That's So Raven fan that the show sucks without getting b----ed at. lol. Or what about African-Americans who defend those crappy UPN (now CW) sitcoms because its the only show with black people on it. I see their point, but the show's suck--except for Everybody Hates Chris.

And, the worst I've seen so far are Power Ranger fans. No joke. Star Wars fans get pissed if you say the prequels suck. And, Star Trek fans get easily mad too if you criticize them in a way. But, Power Ranger fans are just ridiculous. I'll admit they tricked me into liking the show back in `93 but when will fans realize that the show sucks?

So, what are some other good examples you can share?

Mighty Morphin Pwer Rangers...is weel now dated and cheesy...but I love it. Same with Zeo and In Space (the first and third spinoffs). ...I should be mad...but you are very right.

I have nothing against Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Yeah, I was tricked into liking it back in `93. And, I enjoy the nostalgia of it now. But, the more recent seasons like Mystic Force are a piece of s--t. But, you can't say that to a fan of the show. They get all sensative.

What's wrong with 24?

Truth. I'll add Arested Development too. I watched 2 episodes of the first season (of 24), and never watched anymore. I wanted to cry to see a fantastic actor (Keifer Sutherland) playing such a poorly written part. My mom watched to first season. Then stopped because it was too hard to follow and because the second season was crap.

Power Rangers always sucked, I never liked it. A stupid mix of Voltron, kung-fu movies, and Godzilla movies. :down I do however prefer the Star Wars prequels.

smallville isnt crappy although its getting there. But if you try to impose any kind of criticism prepare for stoning.

i think its very funny, and very narrow minded to believe that just because you think a show is crappy, then everyone should think the show is crappy. Obviously if theres a loyal fan base they find something entertaining in it because it appeals to them. WHy should that be humorous?

should i laugh that people went to see jackass2? no, because everyone has their own tastes.

I think 24 is crap, therefore 24 fails

I would like to say something in response to this statement but then it would prove this post correct.

That 70s Crap. The show is atrocious in almost every way but it's hailed as original. Well, kids in bell bottoms sitting around talking about drugs and sex is hardly innovative.

But you've been proven time and time again to be an idiot, so does your opinion really count? I mean, you just said you like the Star Wars prequels for godsakes.

That's not what this is about. It's about you expressing your dislike for a TV show and getting harped on for it. On teh internets or for real, doesn't matter. If you've seen my anit-AD rants you'll see I prefer a proactive stance on this front.

I've always prefered silly/absurd/low brow humour to pretentious/self absorbed/too cool for school BS. AD was pretentious/self absorbed/to cool for school BS. Which is why critics loved it, and I hated it.

Smallville's pretty crappy, dude. I used to watch Smallville. I had such hopes for it going in. But now I've cut my viewing down to just the season premieres and finales, because those are the only ones that anything ever ****ing happens in, and any team-up episodes with other heroes, because it's usually kind of cool to see some semblance of comic characters on TV, bastardized by the melodramatic schlock of the WB/CW though they may be. When you can watch just the first and last episodes of an entire season and still understand the ongoing plot threads about as well as any regular viewer, you know a show is crap.

Why does yours? Both trilogies are the same in almost every respect. The only real differences are the new ones have better effects, and Anakin (the character I most identify with).

Smallville is turning into All-Star Batman and Robin and not in a good way:( I love the show but if you say anything bad about it or say Welling is not Superman yet they run and get the mods and say your trying to start trouble and ask for you to be banned.

Yep...I like the Smallville boards, but sometimes it can be so hard to have a conversation that's *not* "OMG Tom Welling is SOOOO dreamy!" or "ZOMFG THAT WUZ DA BEST EPISODE EVAR" on there...

^^^Its hard because if you don't say that or if you dislike a show or the way the series is going you are a person causing trouble and then they run to the mods to try and get you banned. Thats the problem with posting there you either have to kiss Tom Welling's ass or kiss the shows ass in order for you not to be called a trouble maker or a hater of SV. Don't get me wrong I am a SR fan but in order to post there you have to think SR is the root of all evil.

No, no, no dude thats not what I meant. What I mean is how some fans of TV shows are so sensative. If you don't like something I like then I really don't care about it. I may argue some-what with you but at the end of the day I don't care. But, there's some people who just take it too seriously. Thats what I find sad and funny.

There's a good way to be All Star Batman and Robin? :o

:csad: the art is good.

It's pretty to look at, but it lacks any real depth. Now, Frank Quietly, THAT is some ****ing good art. :o

Anyway, I think things would have worked out better if it had simply been a Superman show, not about him growing up. Less to screw up.

This is SV your talking about this should be more simple then a Superman. Yet you have the Justice League now showing up.

Also the fact that the episode threats are 10 pages long before the show even airs.

I've noticed a lot of people on TV Guide are sensitive about How I Met Your Mother and Friday Night Lights. How I Met Your Mother is so crappy, but to fans it's the greatest show ever. It's funny that people can't understand why Friday Night Lights isn't performing so well, but don't realize it's completely generic and seems like it's shot by the school's A/V club after watching Blair Witch Project.

Basically. In retrospect, a regular Superman show would have been best.

But also prohibitively expensive, I suspect. At least, if they wanted to make it look good.

Well, yes and no. There are certain areas were a good deal of FX would be necessairy, but there are other where very little would be necessairy. Take, for example, the villains Metallo and Parasite. You could forgoe Metallo's extra make up entirely by never having his skin rip off, and all Parasite needs for make up is the actor shaving his head and purple face paint over all visible skin. Metallo's powers require any CGI, just whatever FX necessairy for feats of super strength, and Parasite just needs the same FX that Supes has. Less, even, if you simply concentrait on his ability to boost his strength by absorbing energy.
