Crappy shows with sensative fan bases

Yeah, but that doesn't constitute "looking good" to me. I don't want Parasite to just be some guy in purple paint. I want him to be a badass giant who feasts on energy. I don't want Metallo to be some guy who has to say he's got cybernetic parts. I want to see Superman punch half his face off and receive the startling revelation that his body is mechanical when Corbin turns that partially metallic face back around and laughs.

Good point. But even then, the cost of having part of the actor's face made up to look metalic wouldn't be vast. Also, I really don't see the problem with Rudy. The height can be acheved with camera angles, aqnd the energy feasting doesn't have to require too much FX, as most energy is invisible.

I've found that people that like That 70's Show have got to be the worst.

Seriously, I don'\t see how anyone can like that show. I've watched, oh, about half of the series, and I hardlt ever laughed.

And, the worst I've seen so far are Power Ranger fans. No joke. Star Wars fans get pissed if you say the prequels suck. And, Star Trek fans get easily mad too if you criticize them in a way. But, Power Ranger fans are just ridiculous. I'll admit they tricked me into liking the show back in `93 but when will fans realize that the show sucks?

Time Force,In Space,Ninja Storm,Dino Thunder>>>>>Mighty Morphin

Carlos Mencia - just sucks so bad.
However, don't just asume that something is bad before you try it. I used to think Naruto looked stupid for the longest time (I have an extreme biased view of anime) but then I watched a couple episodes and realized it wasn't that bad, in fact it was awesome. :o

Wait, you mean there are actually people out there who don't know that? Mencia has ****ing fans?

I suppose, although you know energy is never invisible on TV shows. But I guess with modern techniques, special effects aren't that expensive. Sci fi shows like Battlestar Galactica and the Stargates use loads of them, and I'm sure Warner Brothers would back a Superman show at least as much as NBC/Universal backs those.

I'd have to tally a vote for "24" as well. I didn't even say I hated it, just said it was ok and the guy who I was talking to, who is a big fan, was like " whoa..wait what? What??"
I think its a little overrated. Batman: The Animated Series as well. Same thing, I liked it and all, but ****, you better not say or even think a bad word about it or people start crying and *****ing to no end. Its a ****ing cartoon. Get over it.

I don't even post in the SV threads anymore...seening that this show is depressing...

24 and smallville

and don't go dissing power rangers, no need to go there...

My mom watched to first season. Then stopped because it was too hard to follow
LOL Something that is genuinely hard to follow must explode her brain.

Alright I'll consider 24 although I'm a fan. I have to admit that the show has definitely fallen off after season two. Now it is getting a little out of control. Season one was the best because it had a real realness to it. and it was gritty. Season two was the perfect sequel to season one. Season three was good but dissapointing and it went like a skew from then on.

Now batman tas. I loved every bit of that show. I'm not going to bash anyone but if you think batman tas was crappy. I don't think there is no pleasing you. I did'nt say you had to like it but crappy. NO that was a masterpiece.

And yes dont go bashing power rangers....

the thing with batman tas is the same thing with spidey. they churned out quite a lot of average eps but people always remember the good ones, it had longevity and nostalgia makes one think that it was consistently good all the way through.

perhaps because the quality was evenly spread throughout the average and poor eps that no one ever seems to notice. plus having fantastic voice actors can pretty much carry most poor villain based motivation or action sequences.

I have to agree with what you said about Batman:TAS yes they put out alot of average shows but the good shows out way the bad and they all lead into something latter down the line example Superman and Justice League and thats why people over look the average shows and remember Batman for the good it has done.

I wish SV could be looked upon in the same like because I am a fan of the show but they have produced more crappy shows then good that the crap out weigh the good.:csad:

It's very hard to follow if you sleep through most of the episodes. Which my mom did (and does with most things she watches). She always complains that there is nothing on for her to watch, before she falls alseep in her rocking chair. That is before 9 PM.

I never realized 24 fans were so sensative. I'll have to be on the look out next time. Maybe just for the hell of it I'll diss the show in front of a fan and see what happens. lol.

No I didn't mean that Batman TAS was crappy, I just said that the show has a really sensitive fan base. I mean you can't utter a single bad word about that show without a hit being put on your head.

Heroes fans.

Some kid I was talking to said the show sucked, and I totally flipped a **** on him. Kinda made me realize that theres a lot of us rabid fans out there.

We all of use are guilty of rabid fanboyism at some point in our existance. However as long as we realize we have engaged in this demeaning behavior we can try and not do it again.

actually i think the tas probably has more bad eps than good ones but because there wasnt a high level of story telling in cartoon of that era, the eps seem far more average because they've dated over the years. i would say around 35% of the eps were of a high standard still now which is a high number considering how many eps it churned out. truth be told it did wander near the end and TNAB i have yet to watch many of those eps but the artwork simply doesn't catch me yet, i'll see if i can find the majority of them on youtube.

the problem with smallville i feel is that timewise it moves too slowly and unfortunately in order to fill in the void, they have to compromise with quality. a lot of what has happened in the last 2 seasons i feel could have been squeezed into a single really good one. I just think it's trying to milk itself too hard and it's showing, which is a shame because when smallville is good, it's pretty damn good.

Well said,

Just finished a post in another thread on this very topic.

I throw into the fray, the original Battlestar Galactica, and it's oversensitive, nancy boy, hardcore fanbase.

It's possibly one of the worst shows ever (by todays standards). Maybe for it's time, it was a quality show. But by todays quality shows, the original BSG is one large lump of putrid trash. Much of this opinion is based on the fact that 99% of the cast can't act (cough# dirk benedict#cough).

And all these guys seem to do is ***** and moan about how the new series is terrible, and nothing like the original. And I ask why? The original was pretty bad, and is nothing, absolutely nothing, when compared to the new incarnation of the Battlestar Galactica

haha, I was actually about to say the exact same thing. After I got into the new series, I tried to watch the original and turned it off in the middle of an episode because I just couldn't take it any more.

I tried to watch the original BSG numerous times before the new show had ever started, but I never could. But, when I first heard about the new version's being a re-imagining, I thought it was lame and just skipped the mini-series altogether. Then I watched a couple of episodes from the first season and before long I was hooked. It really is about a thousand times better than anything the original series could ever manage to produce, and this is coming from a person who, 99% of the time, absolutely hates re-imaginings.
