Craziest Fanbase Of All Time?

The Star Wars fanbase has become the most toxic.
The DCEU fanbase tends to be quite childish with its victimized, "the world is out to get us" demeanor.
The Nolan fanbase got pretty obnoxious and pretentious at one point.

I don't have a proper answer for this since I'm not basing this on any studies, surveys or statistical data. I suppose I would go with extreme Star Wars fans.

The Star Wars fanbase has gotten pretty rough lately. It's sad, because it attracts a great group of people, but maintains a very large, increasingly toxic section that dominates attention. The most pathetic part is that they're convinced they "defend the honor" of their precious OT heroes, when the people behind those heroes are the epitome of the "SJW's" they hate so much.

From @shaun_jen on twitter:

Fake nerd girl: I love Star Wars! I'm a big fan!
True fan: Oh yeah? Harass five cast members. I'll wait

I agree, but for me the Star Wars fandom has crossed a line. When people have to take down social media accounts because you and a few others are mother's basement dwelling morons with no hope of success in life, then I look down on you the most. Plus, you cannot even discuss a Star Wars movie anymore without TLJ or Kathleen Kennedy whining. It's why I don't participate in the actual forum as much as I would like to.

I think I've got to go with Marvel fans who hate and bash DC, it's really weird and yes crazy that they can't acknowledge that a lot of the writers and artists worked for both and even those that didn't the quality seems generally pretty comparable, at least not so different to love one and hate the other.

The Star Wars fan community has become really bad now. And I don't buy the "it's just 1% of them" argument; for every loser harassing Kelly Marie Tran or calling Kathleen Kennedy the c-word, there's 20 others saying, "Well, I don't agree with what that guy is saying, but ...". Those guys are a big part of the problem too.

The MCU and DCEU stuff can get kind of out of control, but at the end of the day it's just nerds eating each other. The Star Wars stuff reflects dangerous attitudes towards girls and women, and nobody within the SW fan community is talking about that in any useful way.

1. Furries
2. Star Wars
3. DCEU

Star Wars and DCEU are pretty neck and neck now, but we gotta give respect for the DECADES of insanity they've put in.

They also sent death threats to critics when TDKR was coming out...which caused Rotten Tomatoes to close their comment section.

In my country, the DCEU's fanbase is so pretentious and sensitive against critics.

Nolan's fanbase is quite toxic though. I once created a review thread in which I said Interstellar was a bad movie and might be Nolan's worst film then i get a bunch of comments saying how stupid I was or don't like Interstellar = **** taste of movies.

Pardon my ignorance, but what group are Furries, placed in your number 1 place ?

I don't know if you want to know.

A guy I used to work with was a furry. He also drew human looking foxes. He left his sketchbook by the back door once and a friend of mine happened to flip through it and he drew pictures of us and other women we worked with as foxes doing...things.

The thing you have to realize, that toxic core is in pretty much every geek fandom.

There's me thinking it was a reference too Tribbles so it was a Star Trek 'word' for their group. Mind you, I'm sure Kirk would do a fox so.....

Hahahahahaha. It would be almost better if that's what it was.

Furries are people who like dressing up as animals. That's the best explanation I can come up with without actually being part of the community. Maybe someone else here can provide more insight. I was always under the impression that there was an underlying sexual aspect to it, but I might be wrong with that.

I think that any time you have a large number of people who get together as fans of any subject....it will begin to have it's splinter groups and subsections....so, I won't say that every furry does it for a sexual reason, but I would dare say that many of them do. There was an episode of the original C.S.I. decades ago that I first saw anything about this.

I met a self-claimed furry once who said he didn't dress up as an animal, either, just that he (strongly?) associated with one.

The Star Wars debacle has been really interesting to me because I've seen a lot of people who are both fans of the DCEU and detractors of the modern Star Wars films, who seem to hold the same complaints about the SW movies that most people do about the DC ones.

But there are tons of good people in both fandoms. A lot on this very site, even. It's a shame to get painted with the same brush as the crazies.

There are many Star Wars fan groups that raise money for charity and other things like that....but the news would rather run the story of the evil bigoted fan doing something repulsive. Don't get me wrong, the repulsive story needs to be told so that people know hat's going on and can then work against such things....but the good stories need to be published also.

I used to think The Walking Dead had the most batshh fans (hello bethyl shippers) but Star Wars is currently taking the cake for that now.

It's sad that the awful ones are always so loud.

ETA I'm now terrified for Elektra1 and that sketch book story. Holy crap.

K-pop
MCU (aka "Marvel Fans")
Gaming fans?

Star Wars hands down you can't have a discussion with being called a derogatory name on both ends either your still live with your mom or your a shill for Disney

I stopped discussing it altogether I said my piece and moved on

a close second are the gaming fans go to any popular game COD, Halo, Gears and you see people being so irrational towards each other

I have a sketchbook containing highly sexualized images of various men of the Hype as different species of tree fungus.

Don't judge me, y'all should have known what was happening when you agreed to pose for me.

I'm still getting badger hair out of my nostrils since.....
