Who here likes Criminal Minds? What's your favorite episode? Who's your favorite character? What storyline would you like to see in an upcoming episode (fan fiction, etc)? Go ahead, discuss all things Criminal Minds here and have fun.

I love this show. IMO it's one of TV's best. But I much prefer the episodes with Gideon and not just because he was my favorite character. Mantegna is alright, but even though he replaced Gideon, Gideon will always be in a class of his own. The show is still great to watch and it's my fave next to the original CSI.

I also loved this exchange from the episode "A Real Rain":

Hotch: Ghandi said, "Better to be violent if there's violence in our hearts than to put on the cloak of non-violence to cover impotence."

Gideon: Ghandi also said, "I object to violence because when it appears to do good the good is only temporary; the evil it does is permanent."

I only recently started watching reruns of Criminal Minds recently on A&E. I'm like "Holy s#!t, how did I miss ever seeing this show?" I like Gideon too, he's just so good at what he does. And I love Garcia, she's brilliant and a great bit of comic relief to lighten an otherwise very dark show. I love her raport with Morgan. I wonder I'd those two ever become an item (don't tell me, I want to be surprised). Spencer's a great character too. He looks like he's barely stopped having themed birthday parties yet he's a better profiler than many people twice his age.

Next to the original CSI and Law & Order: SVU, this is the best crime drama on TV.

They really need to bring Gideon back he was one of my favorites along with Penelope, and Spencer.

True, I really like Gideon too. But practically from the very beginning Gideon was portrayed as a man on the edge of being a complete burnout. Thus it's totally understandable why the character would leave the life of a profiler behind.

I love Paget Brewster. That is all.
I second this.

Yeah, Spencer's great. Especially when some episodes focus on him.

The only reason as to why he was portrayed as "on edge" was due to his past, where he sent six mean into a warehouse with a bomb in it, and his reputation went down the drain and always had this inner guilt. Which is why even though he finds the inner demons once getting into the heads of the criminal's he's profiling, deep down he had inner demons of his own.

Nice ep tonight for the season premiere. Glad Hotch is ok and looking forward to the rest of the season.

What happened for those that don't get the broadcast? Can you tell me how Hotch survived please man?

He was said to have been stabbed 9 times by The Reaper and was dropped off at the hospital afterward. Prentiss was the one who went back to his apartment at first before notifying the rest of the team of what happend to him after they were wondering where he was. Later in the ep, he woke up.

Tell me the guy that plays Hodgner shouldn't play Superman. I f**king dare you!:cmad:

Great opener.

It was a great opener. This was also the show where Jane Lynch (As Spencer's mom) played a more serious character then what she was used to. I did not like that girl who replaced JJ for a spell last year.

Great show.

My favorite is the episode from early in the first season where Tim Omundson guest starred as the sniper. Great one.

I like that episode too. I liked the very end when Hodge was talking to Spencer and appologized for kicking him so many times. Spencer says, "I was a 12 year old prodigy attending a Las Vegas public high school. You kick like a 9 year old girl."

How freakin' powerful was the 100th episode?

Greetings,

Aye, it was a great episode, and the cast is pretty much great in their own ways. =) Very strong dynamic, and it's a different spin on alot of "Shows" that are currently "Like this" style. So, it's fresh in that regard.

Top it off, I finally got S1 on DVD from my brother in law, and lemme tell ya. It's expensive series too, almost bad as BSG. =/

That 100th episode was heartbreaking.

Anyone hear rumors of a spinoff show? Apparently, they will introduce new characters in an episode later this season.

Yeah I read about a spinoff happening on imdb.com. Apparently ratings for Criminals Minds are doing so well that they're going to spin off the show like NCIS or the CSI's.

I'm looking forward to how it'll all play out eventually and how the new team can match up with the original. Cause I absolutely love the current CM team. Even Rossi's grown on me, because I couldn't believe Gideon left. Gideon was so awesome. :csad:

Gideon was awesome, but he could not take it anymore and left a note to Spencer explaining why he left.

I don't remember what happened to the female who preceded Prentiss as it's been a while since I saw older episodes.

I think this is the magic year that this show goes into Syndication in the fall of 2010.

I'm also thinking that Nicholas Brendon will be involved in the spinoff, as might the lady who replaced JJ for a brief spell.

She quit after shooting a serial rapist to death, who was released because she blew the sting operation (this was shortly after the episode where she was shot and almost killed in her own home by the unsub they were investigating).

This is the first I've heard of a spin off, but that would be a great casting choice. They might also have Morgan head up the new team on the spin off, as he was put in charge of the team while Hodgner was gone. But now that Hodge is back he's been demoted. He could be offered to lead his own team in another city for the spin off.

I've finally seen the episode that comes right after Garcia got shot. For those of you who can't remember, that's the episode where the unsub was a Satan worshipping cannibal down in Florida. Garcia went out on a date with a guy she met in the coffee shop that morning who then ended their date (and the episode) by pulling out a gun and shooting her.

For the longest time bad luck has kept me from seeing what comes next. Obviously Garcia survived because she's still on the show, but I still hadn't learned who shot her and why. Turns out he was a cop with a narcissistic psychosis and hero homicide complex. He also specifically targetted Garcia because she had secretly flagged the files from some of his murders in order to light a fire under the police investigating them so they won't fall through the cracks of the system, and he thought the FBI were looking for him specifically. This is also the episode where Kevin (Nicholas Brendan's character) is first introduced. It's nice to see him doing something since Buffy.

What did you guys think of that lady that replaced JJ for a brief period last season?

As for Morgan leading the new team? That would be good, but I wouldn't not go for it. He has great rapport with Garcia, best out of the rest of the team, IMO.

The woman who temporarily replaced JJ while the character was on maternity leave was pretty good. They may even bring her back in the spin-off.

I agree with you on Morgan having the best rapport with Garcia out of everyone on the team. Maybe it's Hodge who leaves to head up the new team and leaves Morgan in charge of the old one.

Thundarr,

Noone is leaving the current dynamic, according to the current producers of the original for the spin off, which is a good thing. Now, what I'm worried about is writing staff, or I should say the producers start writing both, and have the quality go down the tubes. Then again, they have said things like that before....

I really hope it doesn't happen, tho. It would just ruin the whole show, the current one if someone leaves, or they start the writers start writing for both shows. Plus, I don't know how they could do it to be honest. Plus, isn't that enough freaking "Spin Offs?"

My 2 cents,
Ali
