He-Man & The Masters Of The Universe Appreciation Thread

The 2002 show was AWESOME !!! I bought all of the new actions figures (some still in the box), the comics from Wildstorm and MVC, and was even lucky enough to find the first season box set at Dollar Tree for a DOLLAR !!!! CN sucks for cancelling this and Thundercats.

Caught the "Evilseed" episode on tv last night. It might have been the nostalgia talking, but it was kind of epic seeing Skeletor and He-Man team up at the end.

So does anyone remember what figures they had/still have growing up?

Is that the original series? Because I don't remember He-Man and Skeletor teaming up in the reboot. Not even against King Hiss and the Snake Men.

The 2002 animated show was good the toyline flopped. The show was a vehicle to sell the toys and without the toyline ...well there you go.

Def the original. Because the 2002 Evilseed episode instead featured the debut of my favorite re-imagined character: Johhny Cash, I mean, Mossman.

Completely sucks to high hell that you need to subscribe for all the figures in 2014 just to get Clamp Champ!

if you want some good fun movie I highly recommend master of the Universe its stars Dolph Lundgren he plays in the expendables right now kind of like star wars it came out in 1980s if your he-man fan I pretty sure you can pick it up like five bucks or more I if I highly recommend you like star wars

Lol, "victim" is about the right word for it.

I have to give them credit though; they are giving us the figures we want. Too bad there are too many we don't want; just to get Shadow Weaver, I had to put up with Sir Laser Lot, Cy Chop and Slushhead. I'd use those figures to start my fireplace if they didn't cost me a fortune. Cy Chop looked like it was designed by the marketing geniuses who gave us Man-Tech!

tell me about it mate. i'm the type of guy toyguru hates. i refuse to subscribe and have "cherry picked" the figures i want. so i'm one of the evil fans who want the line to die:whatever:

i've seen guys get they're subs canceled after payment has been taken and i've seen guys have they're cards used to purchase another 3 subs on top of what they already have got all randomly

thats why i dont even go to he-man.org anymore, i used to love that place, but i just got sick of the abuse from a large section of the fandom if you didnt worship at the feet of matty

That stated, I eagerly bought the sub for the Filmation collection, because the figures were to awesome to pass up (Batros! Icer! Shokoti! Hell yeah!).

But I will not buy the 2014 sub. If I really want Clamp Champ so badly, if I pay $180 for him at a convention, I am still "saving" money by foregoing the figures, beasts and vehicles I don't want.

That movie was pure cheese. It was so damn cheesy it should be served on a cracker with wine. I heard someone say that the movie probably started out as just a generic sci-fi adventure movie and someone suggested they turn it into a He-Man movie.

That being said, the movie is a guilty pleasure of mine.

IS A NEW HE-MAN ANIMATED TV SERIES IN THE WORKS?

World Animation and VFX Summit Turns Three
AWN correspondent Heather Kenyon takes a working vacation in Los Angeles for the third annual World Animation and VFX Summit, including the Opening Night Gala and two days of panels and discussions.
Heather Kenyon said:
A really great discussion was had about “Rebooting Classic Properties” and featured Disney’s Troy Underwood discussing Tron and Star Wars, Cort Lane from Marvel and David Voss from Mattel’s Playground Productions giving us an inside look at their upcoming He-Man.

Is the 90's series worth watching? I'm not too familiar with it.

IMHO, the 90's series is absolute crap and should be avoided at all costs.

The 2002 version though? THAT totally ROCKS! Highly influenced by Anime style artwork and animation. Very much like if the original Filmation cartoon was written, produced, drawn, and animated by the same people who did Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Yeah the 2002 cartoon is more my thing than the 80's cartoon to be honest. I'm not a big fan of the 80's Hasbro cartoons, but of course they are iconic to so many people and that says something. Thanks for the recommendation to avoid 90's He-Man.

Same here. I was a big fan of the Filmation cartoon as a kid, but looking back on it today I'm like "What the hell did I ever see in this?" But the 2002 series? I was in my late 20's when that came out, and I was able to enjoy it. Now I'm in my 40's, and I still enjoy popping the DVD's into the DVD player, kicking back, and enjoying a well told, beautifully animated story once again.

Although I must admit, I do enjoy the He-Man & She-Ra Christmas Special every December. Just for the pure cheese factor.

I wore my He-Man and She-Ra Christmas Special VHS out as a kid. I watched it again a couple of times on Netflix and Skeletor cracked me up with his interaction with the children. Grumpy Skeletor is hilarious.

Something Awesome!

Just watched the above video. That was pretty cool. I hope if the new Masters Of The Universe movie ever gets out of Development Hell, that this guy gets the job of designing the swords and weapons for the film.

You gotta love the manchine puppy licking Skeletor's face. That was awesome.
