Criterion Collection Thread

Was gonna preorder the Bruce Lee set as well as pick up a few other things, but my microwave crapped out. Fantastic timing.

Wanted to get Fincher’s The Game before the recent sale ended, but my B&N was out. Gotta do a more thorough search for the next one...

Last month, only movie I got was The Elephant Man. Money is tight otherwise would have gotten a few more.

Bought the Ghost Dog Criterion Blu ray today.

Last movies I bought since the Bruce Lee set was Ace In The Hole and The Gunfighter. Was hoping to take advantage this summer but I'll probably have to wait for November's sale. I'd have to scour the site for things to buy anyway as I can only think of Naked Prey as one I need to get off the top of my head.

Got The Graduate and Nolan’s Following today. It’ll be my first time seeing Following in a solid decade.

I've been told more than once I need to see Following but haven't had the chance to yet.

To be fair, if you are a store associate...shouldn't you know NOT to do that?

Idk why they released a new cover for the regular bluray of Citizen Kane when the 4K release, with identical bad cover art, is coming out in November.

It’s that time again…

With Black Friday and the holidays coming up, I should probably limit myself to just one, but… we’ll see.

Decided to pick up some, its been a while. Yojimbo and Sanjuro. Been a while since I got some Kurosawa.

I know the channel and the disc releases don’t necessarily align, but… give me this, Criterion.

And we’re BACK!

Hyped for Lost Highway. The KL version kinda sucks.

Christ, they really are addicted to Netflix movies.

Congratulations to Pixar! This is pretty unprecedented. Wonder if it could open the door for other Disney or various other animated films to get the Criterion treatment?

I am very much of the opinion that The Iron Giant should receive this honor as well. It is way long overdue.

Seems the sale is in full swing. Gonna try to pick up Lost Highway the next time I’m at B&N.

Tempting. Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet would’ve been my first choice for the collection, though.
