So ASM got rotten reviews from critics for being "unnessesary" in doing the origin story. Ok you have a point but I think it's unfair but I can understand.

Now lots of critics are bashing it acgually because it's also f***ing unnessesary? F*** off. These critics should bury their head in shame. It's just childish, it's actually disgusting to think that these people are paid to have well thought out opinions but clearly they have the a very flawed and biased mindset. This is a lesson that critics are no more of value than yourselves. Critics that don't like ASM2 are fine but because it's "unnessesary" because you suffer from the horrible disease that is fanboyism then you need to simply grow up. Really pathetic how ignorant some people are it's actually unreal.

Yeah i havnt seen the second movie yet have to wieght to may 1st 7pm hear in the stats but i am beging to fell that way. I can understand with the first one because of doing the oring over again but this one is doing new things and some one mitched that a lot of the reviews are calling in uncessary though. It semeds like 25-50% of the bad reviews are saying uncessary and not really judging it on its own has a movie. At the same time it fells like a lot of the possitive reviews are more mixed leading to negitive. Even the first one while i can agree becuase of the orgin being told again i still think it was more like a 80% movie on RT not 73.

Let it go guys :yay:

Critics are only saying what they feel.

Well i'm biased in the way I love Spider-Man and superhero movies. Heck even SM3 is an enjoyable film with plenty of funny moments.

In fact, TASM2 suffers the same problem as SM3 in that the main villains don't even properly appear till a final battle right at the end.

What reviewers aren't taking into consideration though is the fact that villains for example Goblin only make brief appearances here, but they will 100% be in follow ups. Venom in SM3 was killed off completely, but people need to see this film with an open mind regarding a FRANCHISE.

For example, the "Untold Story" from the first film was never going to be covered in the first. It was going to be covered in the FRANCHISE. That's the sort of mindset people need since it happens all the time where villains appear at the end of comic books and then play a bigger focus in the following issue.

The thing that is annoying me about the reviews is the dismissing of the incredible chemistry of the leads. So when words like 'cash grab' are flung around it is doing a disservice to the efforts of all involved.

Guys, I'm not complaining about the negative reviews, there is apparantly ones because it's unnessesary...?

Or maybe guys both movies are just not very good.

Regardless of the quality of the movie, the quality of some of the reviews has been laughable and quite revolting

The hate this franchise has been getting is ridiuclous. The movies aren't perfect, but they for sure are not as bad as some people are trying to make them.

Also, seriously ...comparing it with Batman & Robin. Jeez!

I'm out!

Nothing is as bad as Batman and Robin except those creppy venom vs spiderman stop motions on youtube

Fans aren't near as protective when critics are being unfair to the likes of Michael Bay when it comes to their reviews. And i'm not talking about the plot, i'm talking about those that also keep insisting on complaining about it being another unnecessary sequel or other points some of you are complaining here.

I don't see how it happening to transformers makes it any more acceptable that it happens at all, it is repugnant and it is a blight on film reviews and journalism as a whole.

I'm focusing on ASM2. There is apparantly reviews getting a rotten rating because it's a reboot.

That is not a well balanced, thought out review which these people are paid to do.

Journalism keeps getting worse every year, i will agree with that.

Best just to keep listening to those critics you tend to agree or respect their views.

there are certainly people who want the movie to fail, i still think some are insulted by sonys quick reboot because it had just done for the money written all over it, and i ain't talking about the quality of the film just the whole reboot idea in general

i think the people who really wanted a reboot appreciate it alot more

Yep. Ebert was my go to guy, I pretty much agreed with 99% of his reviews and the 1% I didn't agree with he always gave a good explanation of his POV. If there is a reviewer whose views are completely the opposite of mine I drop them as there is no point watching or reading reviews you disagree with over and over.

The "I don't see the point of this reboot" argument is one of the worst arguments ever.

One thing I would say is the comic book community are more accepting of reboots as comics are rebooted all the time. The general audience however are less accepting of reboots especially if it is a movie or franchise that was beloved.

For instance, look at the reaction to the Robocop reboot.

Just because that is how a fan interprets the review, doesn't mean that is the only reason a film is getting a bad review.

That's poor story telling though. A film should have it's own self contained story. It shouldn't expect you to watch the sequel just to understand. It shouldn't assume you're going to see the sequel.

Critics are pretty black or white, it's either good or it's bad.
Take Man of Steel. I thought the first act was awesome, the characterisations was incredible and the relationships of the Kents and Clark were incredible heart felt. However, I thought the 3rd was a disgrace but I'm not going to trash an entire movie because there is an element of the movie I didn't like.

There have been reviews that have dragged ASM2 over the coals claiming no redeeming qualities and completely disgrading what is in my opinion the best romance ever in a superhero movie.
