Critics' Reviews: Discussion

It is evident that he has done some bad stuff, it doesn't HAVE to be shown.

But it should, no matter what. No need for explicit gore, but he should've been seeing doing more stuff. If, instead of Deadpool, they used Wolverine berserkering that place (and it would be cool to see Wolvie cutting that bullet), it would be better. In fact, It would be cool to see no Deadpool at all on this movie. Save him for a bigger role.

Yea even though I do love that scene and Wade Wilson, I do think it would of been better to have Logan tear into that room. The way Wade was portrayed it seems he could of pissed all the others, including Logan and Creed, which then begs the question, why experiment on him anyway?

You answered your question already.

It's not dumb because it will make them a bucket load more money. Simple.

It is a bastard from our P.O.V. But they are in the business of making money, this will make money, therefore, it is NOT dumb.
Its dumb from our pov which was what I was talking about. I don't know anyone who would think that this was a cool move so that they could drive to different theatres to possibly get a different ending.

A lot of things are dumb that make boat loads of money:o I said it was smart financially but it was also dumb beause they are just pissing on their fans even more.

Logan is a guy who gets his hands dirty, who's done more than his fair share of bad things in the past, who's always fighting with his inner animal, you get none of that in the Movie. He does never anything morally wrong or is in conflict with who or what he is. There are no grey areas to walk in. It's plain black and white. There are the bad guys, here are the good guys. And Logan is such a good boy.
Hit the nail on the head...:cwink:

Nathan pretty much nails it. In X-Men and X2, it's heavily implied that he's done some bad things and that he can do some bad things( mansion seen in X2) but this was the film that needed to explore that...and it just doesn't.

And they don't have to. Even in a PG-13 movie they can show him doing morally wrong things. You don't need gore to show how much of a bastard he is.

Batman would be a good comparison. He does morally wrong things in The Dark Knight even though he had been portrayed as a comic bookish character in earlier films.

I can't think of any other comparisons, but I'm sure there are. Oh yeah, Anakin in the Star Wars prequels.

I would equate Fox to George Lucas:o I even think Jackman could be equated to George.

This is...depressing. :csad:

I saw an entire group of kids watching the leaked movie inside of a hooka bar. I'm like...how is that allowed?

Hey, I wouldn't be surprised if President Obama randomly made a comment about the movie. I remember this photo being released saying it was Obama watching the leak...I think he was a bit disappointed too.

Positive reviews!! I wonder how long it takes someone to claim they are working for Fox? :hehe:

I don't think you have to be completely crazy to "like" this movie :hehe:

Try telling that to some other people :D

The reviews are what I expected. Great comic book movie with flaws. Whether those flaws ruin the movie for you is a matter of opinion.

I'd like to see the moral change from a guy who does the dirty work and goes after the people who used him. Not just have everyone call him an animal and you wonder the entire Movie why? And I've been waiting for a while to see a real badass Wolverine, to see some of his dark past before he joined the X-Men. I don't just want them to allude that he's done some wrong things. Freaking show me.

Errr...he does. He defends his [BLACKOUT]rapist [/BLACKOUT]brother, and kills US soldiers in the process. As revealed in the comic con trailer.

It does no such thing, especially if you zoom onto his worried face, everytime his brother actually does something wrong. It just shows him what every other Soldier does, fight for his country. Even though he's canadien... but whatever.

No, it shows him fighting with his brother "no matter what". That is the whole frickin message of the film, his brother keeps dragging him down. The fact is he kills a load of soldiers defending his [BLACKOUT]rapist [/BLACKOUT]of a brother. Yea, he is a bonafide nice guy...riiiiight.

So what happened to the embargo? The embargo ended today i guess?

Like I said, watch it again. First, he doesn't know what went down, only that Creed and the Soldiers are suddenly trying to kill each other. Secondly, it doesn't matter what happened in the Comic Con Footage, in the Movie he is just shoving people around.

Ok, I just read war montage and didn't see that you're just talking about the last scene in particular. But anyway, look for my answer above.

Wow, Nathan hit it on the head for me. For me, in everything I've read, the lack of Wolverine really getting his hands dirty and being dark, animalistically brutal and quite morally ambiguous has been a serious downer and negative point. I thought that was where we were going; X2 hinted at his past ferocity and when I saw the first trailers I was also led to believe that. So am I right in saying he never has a full blown berserker rampage or massacre in this? X2 was like a tease for me, I turned to my sister and said "Holy crap, look at this scene in the trailer! Logan is so gonna kill the invading guards in berserker style! Just like the comics" but it wasn't a big drawn out sequence, and I was fine with that. I was hoping to see something of the sort on a larger scale come May 1st, but it sounds like such a scene wont be in there? :(
