Its social irony that we see the Jesus Christ and Cthulhu thread right next to each other.

One threads to praise religion, the other's to mock it.

Really? You trying to get this closed?
No, Cthulhu would be angered and then he would take that anger out on everyone. You don't want to see Cthulhu when he's angry.

Cthulu can Hulk out? :hmm

But can he potato?

The Hulk can Cthulhu out. Cthulhu did it first. What do you think caused the dinosaurs to go extinct?

You mean it wasn't cause we touch ourselves at night?!?!! :shock

Nyarlahotep challenges Cthulhu for supremacy of this thread. He has been pushed to the side for too long! He demands plushies and memes in his likeness!

Our Lord was quite the scamp in His squidling days! :funny:

Right now, I'm finalizing an adoption with the Esoteric Order of Dagon Adoption Agency. When I'm finally a happy father, I'm going to watch the Adventures of Lil' Cthulhu with my little fish fry every day. :yay:

By the way, for those faithless people who keep mocking our cult by saying that it's not a real religion, I should remind you that we have holiday songs. If that doesn't make us legitimate, I don't know what does!

Chuck Norris.

Feels like there should be a Chtulhu/Chuck joke somewhere... :hmm

Sad that there hasn't been any big production of Cthulhu

There is however a fantastic 20's style silent film of Call of Cthulhu. I saw it years back but I'm pretty sure its on Netflix instant now.

Chuck Norris.

Chuck Norris offended Cthulhu and when they got into a fight, they killed off the dinosaurs.

It has been years since I've actually read any Lovecraft, been meaning to get back into it, there are still many of his stories that I have not read.

I've never really dug into any of the other writers that have branched off from his work. Do you guys have any recommendations?

Do you mean Lovecraft or other authors like him? IF You mean Lovecraft, most of his stuff is public domain and can be read here:

As for other authors, I'm not sure. I agree though on a lot of the other Cthulhu Mythos writers not being very good. Stephen King did a story that was ok, and a lot of August Derleth's work is decent since he worked with and was a friend to Lovecraft himself. Pretty much everything else is very hit or miss.

I've come to a conclusion about this topic, glad to see we can talk about this matter simply because...

I am pleased to see that this thread is alive and well! Cthulhu would also be pleased. As for the other God's who have made their way into this thread, that's perfectly okay. Each and everyone of them knows that Azathoth, the Daemon Sultan reigns over all of them anyways. Reality exists because of him! Regardless, this is an appreciation and worship thread. There is no debate, ridicule or mocking of any other religions (even if they're false) to be in this thread. Please keep it civil.

Anyhow, here are some more sanity shredding images.

I've read several but not nearly all of them. It's also been a while since I read them but most of what I read were equally good.

I've read one of his stories. The Cave I think it was. I own all of his works, but have yet to read them. This thread has inspired me to dust off the collection, and get to reading.
