That is the one. I believe two versions were released the purple colour version (with battle damage) and the black colour version. I hasten to think that the purple is the more common one, as I've seen them more often. The one I found was second hand. It was also the black version. I painted over the gold details on the air brakes at the back because I found it too naff looking.

I wanted at first to use extruded polystyrene foam or the blue modelling/insulation foam. I am an impatient child so searching for instant fixes I used so balsa wood.

It turned out to work very well. Very easy to add brick work to.

I then added card details to the brick work.

The roof access on the Begins roof is not a straight diagonal down but I decided it would be easier to build it that way. It has a flat roof that then leads into the diagonal stairwell.

I still need to add the railings and other details before I paint.

My next project which I'm working on at the same time as the rooftop is the New Batcave. Here are some pictures.

First off is my custom Alfred. Not perfect but good for the time being.

Here we have the Batsuit cage and the Bat-computer table.

Here are the Bat-computer screens - accurate to the shots we have seen so far.

No, no...Batman doesn't have guns...it's a...C4...explosive injector...yes...

OK it WAS a Halo 2 SMG but now it is BATMAN'S C4 EXPLOSIVE INJECTOR. :)

that looks so solid man, i cant wait to see what the batcave looks like.
ive picked up the MM batman and im definitely going to make some sort of diorama for it i just havent decided which one yet

Thanks. I've actually been messing around with the Batcave and I've realised that doing a Batcave from the new film doesn't make sense. It is just a lot of empty space and while that sparse look works in film I want a something visually interesting to take up about a metre of room. So I'm debating what I want to do. I've considered doing a combination of old and new with the Begins Cave with TDK computer and suit cage. with the foundation of Wayne Manor, cave walls, etc. Or a smaller version of what I planned, that could fit on shelf. I may do both. Pictures soon.

That sounds pretty good. Just do the old Bat-cave, with the new computers, and have a waterfall where your Tumbler can go. ;)

Did you go to college for some sort of architecture degree? A lot of my friends I went to school with did, and they had projects where they had to do mini-constructions similar to that. you seem to be pretty accurate with your stuff. Good job, bro.

are you an architect or something?
gotta say youre pretty handy there not to mention clever...

Nice job on the figure but I really really like the Bat-Signal, very cool!! Keep up the good work.

No, I wish I was paid to do this stuff. I did Graphic Design at college (US High School)and metal and wood work and at high school (Junior High) but I haven't continued either into University. This is just a hobby. It's been a very long summer.

Proof of my lack of technique, I didn't measure a single item when making the roof top. I compared it to the figures for high and scale and just made it up as I went. It came together OK.

OK, here is the basic setup for my hybrid Batcave. I wanted to make it look like the a mix of the cave from the comic, the cave from Begins and the Bunker from TDK.

I recently bought two Buffy the Vampire Slayer library dioramas quite cheaply with the intend of one being fashioned into a part of Wayne Manor. Particluarly the top half which lended itself to his bookshelf door which leads to the cave. That was scrapped as I could make better and working secret passages with card. But I like the overall shape of the diorama so I used it as the basis for the Batcave.

I wanted the cave to have to two level look we see often in the different medium. The Begins cave is huge and I couldn't possibly make an exact copy of it so. I'm pushing it as size goes as it stands. So I chose bits I liked. I wanted the foundations of the Manor to be part of the two levels because we see in Begins it is there that he keeps the Batsuit in a ornate cupboard. I also wanted like the cave wall had been cut close to the foundations to extend and include steps. I also wanted a location for the Batcomputer and a workbench, not to mention the Tumbler.

It will of course be modelled to look like natural rock for the most part but as I said this is early stages, I plan to use Newpaper and MOD ROC to achieve the cave walls.

Here you can see the "foundations". I'm only going to build them up this high. The pillars cut the walkway into the two areas, the one from Begins and the Comic inspired area. I like the idea of mixing the two.

I used card, polystyrene and packing tape. As well as the Diorama, but you could easily make that would of card or balsa wood.

More on this project as I make it.
