CD Projeckt Red Cyberpunk 2077

Right now I think it will be a miracle if we get any DLC for this. Just repairing and finishing the main game in 2021 is probably going to eat up the budget they had for the DLC.

There will be DLC. The company can't dump it. If they do, they will be in trouble. Their play is redemption.

Yup, they've recently talked about releasing their first (free) DLC.

But I agree that they need to fix the overall game first and ultimately give us the game we all deserved... And then they can rebuild their reputation.

Random question because it's driving me nuts: does Gavin Drea's voice in this remind anyone else of another actor? He sounds SO FAMILIAR to me, but I've looked him up, and it's not based on anything I've seen HIM in - it's somebody he sounds exactly like to me. But I just can't place who it is.

This cracks me up because I too am having a difficult time placing the voice he sounds like. Ironically though, it may have gotten solved when reading your post and seeing SO FAMILIAR be changed subconsciously in my peripheral as inFAMOUS.

Maybe that’s who I’m thinking of? I know what you mean though...it’s been driving me nuts trying to place who his voice reminds me of.

It's not Troy (on my end, anyway)! I was actually just watching an interview with him the other day and it would've clicked for me if it had been him. But I'm glad I'm not alone here. :funny: I'm like 95% sure it's someone I've seen in movies...and not necessarily leading roles, but more of the "buddy" type of character actor. I think.

They're already in trouble and hemorrhaging. I'm not sure dumping millions more into the planned DLC on top of the unforeseen millions theyll need to spend completing the base game is going to seem like an appealing strategy to the pissed off investors and sweating board of directors.

Right now I think as far as the money men our concerned a successful bug free PS5 and XsX release and fixing this last gen cluster**** is about all the redemption they are going to get.

Those free DLC's are the small ones. Armor sets, skins, clothes etc. The DLC im talking about is the large story DLCs that were planned like Heart of Stone and Blood and Wine for Witcher 3. I dont doubt they can still release the small free DLC's since they are usually just small asset packages. Its the large story DLCs that run 40+ hours that I'm not confident we'll get.

And I would take any dev promises about them with a chunk of salt right now. Game devs always talk about their planned post release road map for their latest games, but they throw the roadmap out or alter the road map when things go wrong. Just look at Anthem, Mass Effect Andromeda, Fallout 76, and countless others that have been delayed, canceled, and altered after release because of a failed launch and bugs.

Here is why I disagree. Their play imo, will be to try and No Man's Sky or Rainbow Six Siege because it has to be. They don't have another game in the pipeline. There is no Witcher 4 anytime soon. Their entire plan was to live off Cyberpunk for the next half a decade. That is why they played an MP that was all about that monetization. It's why they spent $330m on it.

So what I personally think will happen is they will spend the next 6 months fixing the game. They will get the decent press for it, and then next fall we will hear about their first proper expansion. An expansion that will need to rival Heart of Stone and Blood and Wine, in terms of content. Considering the general responses, setting it around Judy and/or Panam seems to be the smart idea. If that goes well, I do think we will hear about the MP again early 2022.

And they're just going to keep on coming.

Yet another 17 GB update today.
Crazy how large the difference is in filesize between consoles and PC. It's only 500 MB here (GOG) and I'm reading about 900 MB for Steam users.

Probably how the files are packed for console builds or they don't do differential patches.

Oh damn, better get it started tonight. :funny:

Honestly, I feel like I should be more mad about all this than I am. Like, I totally get the outrage, but I guess I never really had a clear idea of what I expected this game to be so I’m enjoying it for what it is (and haven’t had any crashes or major glitches thus far, which helps). I didn’t know it was all gonna be 1st person though so I wasted like an hour designing a character that I pretty much never see. :hehe:

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. This shouldn't have been released, and I do regularly run into issues of textures loading late and some frame rate dropping - but honestly I'm having a good time with it. I've sunk over 55 hours into it, and still have a lot of content to finish too. There's some really good material in here, and I do feel bad for the people that clearly poured a lot of work into that material for... this launch.

I spent days building multiple different character appearances before starting the game. What I can't get over is that the character creator is randomly tinted green, while the rest of the game is not. It makes so many of the skin tones look weird in the creator. :funny:

Personally, I find the "corrupt your save file if you have too many items" hilarious in an RPG, where there are a lot of hoarders.

I’m a hoarder extraordinaire so this is a blow and wouldn’t let me play how I want.

Get your annoyance receptors and auto-immune meltdown system checked out and sorted. This is no way to live, missing out on getting appropriately mad when the opportunity presents itself! :cwink:

I expected Battlefront II to be the biggest thing on my system for a while longer at 115 GB. Yeah, this update brought Cyberpunk to 109.3 so...

Now I am very glad I haven't bought this game. Massive patches aside killing my ****ing datacap ( :argh:) it is constantly getting massive patches to fix broken **** they should have fixed before releasing it. This should have been delayed, again, because at this rate the game will take an entire terabyte before they are finished.

This game has way too many load screens. It really ****s up the immersion and pace at the worst times. I dont remember Witcher 3 having nearly as many load screens during the main story.

Loading screens shouldn't even be a thing anymore when you have games that can load while you play or something.

As long as they try to push the visual and content of games, there will always be loading screens. Faster tech just leads to more data being used. That said, I prefer them at the start, GTA style.

I am excited to finally play this after I finish AC Valhalla. But as one who followed this all fairly closely, it is rather disappointing to see the current state of the game. Not simply the launch issues, but the amount of content that was promised and clearly not delivered on. So many things were promised that aren't there. I think I'll still find it to be a rather fun experience, but at the same time I will always be sad the game didn't get the time it needed.

FYI CDPR promised no load screens for this.

Really sad to see all this unfolding regarding CDPR. They are an inspiring publisher-developer, that did so many things right.

As the saying goes, absolute power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

IMHO, I would've done a staggered release. Launch the most optimal version first.
