This continues to be a very weird project for me. Imaishi feels like the wrong guy for this project. Feels like it is restrained in some ways, while going crazy in others.

Still, sold on the Studio Trigger animation.

Anybody watch this? I tried the first episode but it came off immature, edgelord nonsense (a lot like the game, but at least 2077 had some depth and nuance). Does it ever get better in the later episodes?

I managed to finish it last week, it was tough to get through, I just didn't find any of the characters likable (especially David)

I actually thought that this series was really good. It is emotionally tough at times to watch, but also quite engaging and compelling. Also, really great animation and action/fight scenes. As far as Studio Trigger projects go, just off of my own knowledge and experience with their and their predecessor Gainax’s work, this is probably one of the best that they’ve done, based on animation alone.
