The only right I see the father having in this situation would be to kick the boy out of the house.

There was nothing to defend from, as the boy wasn't a threat. Unless you consider having consensual sexual relations with the girl that invited you to the place as threat-worthy.

As I said, the father only saw some strange man in his daughter's room, AND that man was naked. With that fleeting bit of information, ANY father would do the same and leap to the defense of his family, regardless of whether or not that defense was needed or not.

It's not like he just rushed in there to get the guy away from her, for which is a move I'd understand. But the fact that he had time to get a weapon implies that he knew exactly what was going on.

The boy probably was a minor (maybe 15), if he were an adult the charges would have been different (that would be my guess).
