That really irks me when people that kill others say "they were doing it for their own good, to save themselves from something, etc." You killed them because you were weak yourself, and couldn't handle something yourself, they had nothing to do with it.

I wouldn't rush to judgment. On the face of it, it seems pretty bad, but who knows what exactly drove him to take such drastic measures. Maybe his parents were very abusive, we don't know yet.

Consider this though, they raised him. So essentially, they raised a kid who wound up wanting to murder them. Doesn't say much about their parenting skills. Maybe he's crazy, but maybe they weren't great parents, either. That doesn't necessarily mean they deserved to be murdered.

Yeah, its completely ridiculous. You could make the argument he could have killed them with a knife, but still. The statistics really do show that you're far more likely to have an accident with a gun around the house than you are to use it in some action style scene of self defense
