Logan Dafne Keen as X-23

I'm so excited as to how Mangold will handle Laura. Dafne Keen actually looks like some drawings of Laura, particularly those of Billy Tan, and I hope Mangold adheres to her origins closely. It seems like the kind of dramatic material Mangold would like to mine.

I just can't wait to see that little girl carve up some grownups.

I wonder if we're going to get Sarah Kinney in this movie at all? She's a pretty big part of Laura's backstory, and Dr. Zander Rice is apparently appearing in the movie.

Dafne Keen is playing Laura, Sienna Novikov is her stunt double

Hello Everyone,

I think it looks highly likeley we will get X-23 in Wolverine and therefore who would you guys like to play her?

My choice would be either Summer Galu (older actress choice) or Chloe Moretz (younger actress choice).

I dislike that Laura is a child in this movie. According to me it would be better to have a teenager X-23, or adult X-23 as the movie sets in future

So this might not be such a spoiler but...

The end credit scene in Apocalypse hints at Sinister cloning Wolverine to create X-23? But when would Sinister come in?

Laura is probably a pre-teen in the movie. Dafne Keen is 13 or so iirc. Still, Laura is a samurai sword trying to become a real girl - a modern day Pinocchio. It makes sense for her to be the age she is.

Maybe she is created since a long time but is getting older slowly like Logan

Does X-23 talk?
I noticed she (Laura?) has no lines in the trailer?
Is that just part of her angst.
Is she mute? Does she talk in the comics?

Does anyone know if Daphne Keen Fernández has an accent?

According to Angie Han, she only speaks Spanish. I haven't seen it reported elsewhere and we haven't seen the whole movie obviously (or Dafne's prior works, I have no idea how good her English is, but her father is very good), but as far as we know Dafne speaks Spanish in the film. Mangold did want to cast a Latina in the role though.

(thanks Kane) Bringing her gifs here too, cause ..damn!

From the little I've seen of her in the trailers, she looks really good. That scene of her in the car with Logan, sunglasses and bruised/bloody knuckles... Loved that.

I wonder if she'll have her foot claw in this or if it will just be the 2 claws in each arm.

She does have her foot claw according to those who saw the first act.

Is her foot claw on both feet or just one in the comics. It was on one in Xmen evolution but on both feet in Wolverine and the xmen show.

Thank the mods!:cwink:
Laura is a comic book geek lol
Love that they introduced the comics into continuity through her, like they are celebrated out there, and a 5th gen character who is herself an X-Men fan.
Probably wants to believe these heroic characters exist, can be real and have purpose. As she may see herself as a bit of an outsider, and monster with no place.
And through (and for) her, after so much time and loss, it gives Logan the opportunity to make them "real" again.

Also a hint of a 4th wall break, to impress there are (as we know) different narratives out there.

Not being to familiar with the character. Are her bones/claws adamantium laced, or just raw bone?
If laced, was that genetically brought to bear, or added after the fact like Logan?
Also is the idea Logan is cloned/replicated just using his DNA? Or was his DNA cloned into/fused with an already existing subject, girl(mutant?)?

Also where there is a difference (sorry I haven't been folowing the films development) distinguish from what's in the comic vs how it's being set up on film (with spoiler tags if necessary)?
Thanks!

Her claws are laced with adamantium, but the rest of her is normal bone. And she was created through attempts to clone another wolverine, though the DNA sample they used was partially damaged, so they could only make it work by altering the structure and basically filling in the missing sequences using other material and a surrogate mother. There's a lot of science jargon, but basically she's Logan's genetic progeny.
