If Lex is a true co-lead, then not referring to it as a sequel dampens the complaints about Superman not being the sole focus in his own movie.
I’m reading the stories around this era right now. I bought the Triangle Era Omnibus recently and can’t wait to dive into it.
I don’t know why you’d think that. Why would he literally say Superman isn’t the lead if he was? I’m sure he’s a massive part of it and it’s steeped in Superman lore, but it’s fairly clear that it’s an ensemble. With heavy hints Lex is the lead.Yeah, I think Gunn is just trolling with the "it's not technically Superman 2" thing.
MoT cast members have already been annoucning themselves lolWho will be announcing casts first Man of Tomorrow or Batman 2?
Well it’s not Superman 2 and it’s supposed to grow the DCU as a whole. I like the idea. Especially if other DCU characters show up. Unlike BVS Gunn has been planning this for awhile. After going through the whole debacle with BvS, I don't know how to feel about another billionaire character being the main lead for Superman's next major film outing.
Just like Spider-Man.I guess Superman just isnt meant to have a true Superman sequel anymore lol
Spidermans first reboot had a sequel....unlike Superman.Just like Spider-Man.![]()
But you said anymore. Spidey has to share with an Avenger since joining the MCU.Spidermans first reboot had a sequel....unlike Superman.

If we don't get Lexiac...Titled Man Of Tomorrow, one of Superman's nicknames and the title of a Superman comic...
Lex Luthor, Superman's number one villain, is back and is either teaming up with Superman or fighting him directly with his trademark battle suit.
Seems like a "true" Superman sequel to me. That is the confusing part for me about how Gunn has sold this project before the announcement.
So, this is the DCU basically doing the Sony villain-centric comic book film concept but better than Sony.So "Man of Tomorrow" is Lex then.
Fun idea. Reluctant team-up to fight Brainiac.
My guess would be Superman isn’t the POV character and that it’s focused on a team. Not all of whom are specifically Superman supporting characters (John Stewart and Peacemaker, it seems like?)Titled Man Of Tomorrow, one of Superman's nicknames and the title of a Superman comic...

There's nothing baffling about it when you stop trying to imagine them all serving one narrative, and more like the comics, where you have your smaller, more obscure titles that are just doing their own thing while the marquee characters get the big events. Frankly, I appreciate the variety. Clayface has a small budget - they apparently had a killer pitch, so why wouldn't you greenlight it when it's ready to go?Can’t argue with that. Clayface is the only baffling decision so far.
Eh, I don't think they'd title it what they are if Supes wasn't a main POV character. That is a moniker ALWAYS associated with Superman specifically. I just think the title in this instance will be referring to BOTH Clark and Lex, and it's a two-hander. Basically a World's Finest but, ya know, more interesting because of who's in Batman's place lol.My guess would be Superman isn’t the POV character and that it’s focused on a team.
