I was surprised that Fate was 100% cgi costume. Come a long way from GL. Thoughj still prefer actual costumesBlack Adam had some of the most gorgeous costumes in superhero movie history. The cinematography was also quite beautiful.
Too bad both were in service of nothing.
I just find it weird that The Rock clearly wanted to play a superhero like Superman, but instead they got him for a Shazam villain.Black Adams problem is...The Rock cant lead a film like that. And you can tell the film makers knew it because it was mostly a JSA movie anyways.
It was a gorgeous film with a good cast wasted on a mediocre script and a one note star.
I will say the irony of a fascist loving dbag play a fascist character was pretty good.
The Rock would have been a terrible Superman. He doesn't have the charm to pull it off.I just find it weird that The Rock clearly wanted to play a superhero like Superman, but instead they got him for a Shazam villain.
Sorta. This was years and years before they even got the first Shazam movie off the ground back. He was approched to play Captain Marvel in 2006 but also was interested in Black Adam. Fast forward to 2015, IIRC he tweeted asking fans which one he should play and he claims he based his decision of what fans wanted.Apparently he was offered to play Captain Marvel but when he read the script he chose to play Black Adam instead.
Or so I've heard.
I actually wouldn't have minded Dwayne pulling a Jumanji as Shazam.Sorta. This was years and years before they even got the first Shazam movie off the ground back. Mind you this was back when it was supposed to be a Captain Marvel movie, not a stand alone Black Adam movie.

Funniest part was when he claimed during the press tour that he "grew up reading Black Adam comics and he liked him because he looked like him" when:That is really where Rock screwed himself. He could've parlayed helping to launch Shazam as a franchise by being the main villain of the first film, into more appearances in the DCEU and perhaps a solo film for Black Adam if the character was popular enough.
But by insisting on having his own movie as the character of Black Adam, he not only ****ed over the Shazam franchise by depriving it of its #1 villain, he also ****ed himself by making a Black Adam movie that no one asked for. Its the DCEU equivalent to all those Sonyverse Spider-Man villain movies like Morbius and Kraven and Madam Webb.
Because they're a delusional cult. Not to get too far off topic, but can anyone explain to me the DCEU, Snyderverse fans going crazy over rumors of Man of Steel 2 and the continuing the Snyderverse stories?
I have not followed the WB drama of who wants to buy, who will buy and what they will do with the catalogue of stories that they own. Paramount +, Netflix, Disney, or the Saudis. I don't know much about P+, Netflix is a sometimes yes/sometimes no for me, Disney, I believe Mickey is Satan, and the Saudis, well, enough said
Mostly because isn't the Superman sequel supposed to be filming early this spring? The sale, the deal, the regulatory ok should probably take a while, I would think this movie might be in the can by the time the deal is finished. Not unlike WB to can a finished film, but this would be an expensive choice.
Any following it more closely care to enlighten me?
Is this what Tyrone Magnus is saying now?Because they're a delusional cult.
That's all there is, really.
AT&T was meant to be their savior, then it was Discovery, and now it's Paramount.
