A Los Angeles woman killed herself with a chainsaw, police said Thursday.

Police reported to the 3600 block of Keystone Avenue in Palms about 12:40 a.m. Thursday, after the victim’s sister arrived and called 911, said LAPD Officer Norma Eisenman. She described the victim as being in her mid-40s, adding that fire officials say the body's decomposition indicates she may have been dead for as long as a day.

“Two sisters, they share an apartment,” Eisenman said. “The door [to the victim’s room] was jammed a little, and the sister was able to see her on the bed with a chainsaw next to her.”

Eisenman said the case was initially labeled as a possible homicide, but that changed when investigators found a suicide note.

Los Angeles County coroner’s spokesman Larry Dietz said a coroner’s official is still at the scene and his office has no additional information at this time.

I've never wanted to kill myself, but I'm 100% certain that if I tried, it wouldn't be with a chainsaw.

It all just seems kinda suspect.

Of all the ways to do it, I am sure a chainsaw is not quick and painless.

Was expecting this story to be from Sanford, not LA!

If I were to commit suicide, a chainsaw and setting myself on fire would be at the bottom of my list of ways.

Maybe she wanted to feel pain or felt she deserved the pain. I feel sad for her. :(

Wow...I wouldn't want to go off myself THAT way...

Of all the ways to die, she certainly chose poorly.

Maybe she didn't really commit suicide, but actually pissed off the Neighborhood Watch Alliance?

I mean, you have to admit, this sounds like something straight out of Hot Fuzz!

You mean this wasn't an accident?

I wonder how she used the chainsaw? Did she stick her wrists under it?

Some people don't want to go quick.

Apparently she cut her neck with it. Makes you wonder if she decapitated herself.

Yeah, that freaked me out the most when I heard it on the news. I don't even want to imagine the logistics of that.

Sounds like she was trying to punish herself in some way. What a way to go

Maybe she watched Evil Dead 2 and thought it would be cool to be like Ash.

I like how the article said "The police labeled it as a possible homicide, but changed their minds after finding a suicide note."

Lady needed to listen to some Slayer and just break ****, wow is that hardcore.

Yeah I read that and was like wtf

I hope their death investigations go beyond there just being suicide notes left around bodies.

 My god!

You'd think out of kindness she would of used pills. I mean, you have to think about how your sister is going to find you.

It does make you wonder if that was the extent of the investigation.
Well, maybe if these guys...

...were the detectives.

Man it's too much effort (and pain) for a suicide.

Looks like she.....

YYYYEEEAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
