I hope they don't focus on the origin story too much, sick of origin stories.

Having the origin in the pilot is not too much. They can then move on quickly from there where he's been DD a few months. Can't be a few years otherwise why does no one know about him in the MCU?

It's releasing in May. That's all we know so far.

Wesley was Wilson Fisk's corporate lackey....a right hand man kind of guy...but not in a violent sense, think corporate assistant.

Good to finally see some more casting. Man I wish I was in New York, I'd be stalking the production big time with all this free time I have.

My personal view is to sprinkle the origin through flashbacks. Unlike many characters who had their origin and then became a hero, Matt Murdock had at least a decade. Plus, with flashbacks you can hit the ground running and address origin when relevant.

What MCU references do you guys expect to be sprinkled throughout? I'm looking at multiple Stark [Industries] and Avengers mentions (of course).

The Hand, Maggia, Rand International, Roxxon Corporation, Stark Industries, Damage Control, A I M, The Committee, Secret Empire, Agency Byzantine, Black Spectre, Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg & Holliway

^ MCU references, not Marvel comic references, i.e., stuff that's in the movies.

I expect it to be mostly background stuff, namedropping Stark, etc. Maybe Hulk's rampage would be something logical. Maybe a few comments about SHIELD and civil liberties. They have to be careful not to make it forced, though.

I generally think this is supposed to be low-level street crime that doesn't even fall on the radar of those who deal with the big picture stuff. Because of that, the references would probably be kept to a minimum.

Director of Photography Matthew J. Lloyd will be the cinematographer for the entire series. He's worked on Fargo, the film Robot & Frank, among others. Top notch talent all around for this show.

So like Arrow?

I'd be fine with it in doses. Sometimes in Arrow it was a little overused to show a relevant flashback....even though the island part was the best part to me.

Ugh I know. One of the things I hate about AoS. Skye and May talk as if they personally know Thor or something. It's frustrating.

I'm with Mike on that I would like it with flashbacks throughout, but not at the same level as Arrow. In Arrow the flashbacks are a different story altogether whereas in Daredevil it does not have to be as "large" of a story. And it they go with that route I personally think the flashbacks only need to be in the first season of the show.

^ I will say that, while I thought of flashbacks for about 10 of 13 episodes, I couldn't think of any for a second season. In that sense, I agree that it should just be for the first season.

I realize that Arrow comparisons are inevitable. I actually thought of the idea before I ever saw Arrow. I will note that Daredevil's comic uses flashbacks fairly similarly as well.

My idea is to have the flashbacks thematically rather than chronologically. Matt rescuing a person crossing the street and getting his accident should appear in the first episode even if the reasons Matt became a lawyer come later in the season but predate those events. To me, there's a greater opportunity to make the flashback relevant than in Arrow - particularly because you have his entire life to draw from, not just one five year period on an island.

Anyone living close to any of these streets may want to grab a camera and check it out
