Dark Souls III is real and coming in early 2016 according to some leaked art obtained by IGN.

So, this apparently plays much more like Dark Souls 1, from animations to mechanics. I'm actually excited. Based God Miyazaki.

Familiar and beautiful, get hype!

The fire always fades.

Anyone else disappointed by the Game Informer cover article? Miyazaki promised a lot of new info, and then went back on his word once the GI staff got there to interview them. The game still looks amazing, but I was very bummed out by the lack of new information.

Maybe these can help you?

Have the collectors edition pre-ordered for PS4.

I am ready. Bring on more Souls!

I have the collector's edition pre-ordered for PS4 too, but good to know what happened to the Giant Lord version.

I'm going to buy DS1 and DS2 from Steam in preparation for this game. :D

So, I've never played any of these games. Can I start with DSII or should I try to get the first one as well...?

Dark Souls II is a double-edged sword for beginners. While it is the most beginner-friendly, it's also widely considered to be the worst in the series. So it might be easier to get your feet wet, but it might also give you a bad impression of the series.

I personally would recommend playing Bloodborne or Dark Souls over DSII, but that's your call.

Dark Souls 2 had some misteps such as poor communication to the audience to not use the lock-on button on many multiple foe fights basicly and the fact rolls are effected by a stat was just silly.

Dark Souls 2 may be considered the "lesser" of the three Souls games but it is still a superb game. And I think the best for beginners to start. Scholar of the First Sin actually changes up a lot and fixes some of the issues with the original Dark Souls 2. So I don't even see it as a "bad impression" it is still a great game.

I think it's not a bad one to start out on. But eventually you have to play Dark Souls and Demon's Souls just because they are such superb games.
