Darksiders 2

I didn't know that was Michael Wincott voicing Death. Badass.

I'm finally out of that accursed Tower. Now to find the pieces of the Armageddon Blade and to tear the Destroyer a new one.

The only review site I ever listen to anymore is Game Informer...which has never steered me wrong. Can't wait to buy this game today!

played 9 hours and 30 min of the game and gotta say its awesome. Like the first one it has this nostalgic feel to it.

More puzzles than the fights so far. Bosses arent hard at all...till now.

Most of them are well thought out hard but not too hard Zelda like puzzles not Uncharted hold your hand puzzles which is good.

well ROTR hasn't put up their review yet I put it once it's up. but here's some things from gi and siliconera

Why Vigil Revamped Their Combat Engine For Darksiders II

By Spencer . August 15, 2012 . 5:24pm“We didn’t want to re-create DMC and Bayonetta, but we wanted to re-create the feeling of open-ended combat; allow players to come up with their own combos and be creative. In the first game, that was a little lacking.

so just how buggy is this game on the PS3?

According to critics: very.

According to my 17 hrs of play so far on it....not one bug other than my crow (Dust) disappearing one time.

This game, by the way, as a follow up regarding my opinion...

...is AWESOME. If Darksiders was Ocarina of Time, this is Majora's Mask. If Darksiders was a nice cold beer this is a fine wine. They really refined it and gave it its own unique, mysterious feel. Currently in the Realm of the Dead. Loving every puzzle. Level design is just as good, if not better, than God of War's. And regarding Zelda comparisons...I don't care if you like Zelda more. There is no denying that is is a better game than f***ing Skyward Sword (a.k.a "Skyward Bore"). No offense to fans of that one...but to me Zelda keeps taking steps backwards these days.

For anyone who thinks my opinion MIGHT be worth a damn...I give it two huge thumbs up! I'd say if this: you like your action RPGs long, creative, brutal, and with lots of quality puzzles and platforming, definitelyconsider buying this. If you liked the first Darksiders, well then you have NO excuse for not buying this.

I give it an 8.5/9 and I'm pretty strict with scoring games. It's excellent. Only thing that keeps it from being a 10 for me is of course the fact that it wears so many of its influences on its sleeve and in such a way that it is often hard to ignore (*cough* Shadow of the Colossus battle *cough*). Like I've stated this is isn't a bad thing since for the most part it outdoes the games it borrows from and its blatant homages don't bother me personally since the whole package and presentation is really satisfying. But it might bother some. Plus the sacred 10/10 score should be reserved for really groundbreaking stuff in my opinion. This breaks no ground. It just shakes it. HARD. Get this f***ing game already. XD

I can't believe how long these dungeons are. I can see myself playing this game for a while :P

At first I didn't care for how it basically takes place within the same time frame as the first one, but as you proceed you start to see how it all fits together into a much more conspiracy-theory like manner.

And I finally finished the first Darksiders. And even though I already knew the ending, this part is still so freaking epic.

I can't wait for the day all the 4 Horsemen finally come together. It will be a glorious day.

Good to hear you like the game. Still have to get mine. I have to say I really don't mind this borrowing gameplay elements from other games, especially if they are done well. And it doesn't bother me especially because I haven't played many of the games Darksiders borrowed from or didn't get into them. Like I never got into Zelda. I played it in the SNES days, tried Ocarina of Time, borrowed Twilight Princess from a friend. But I never finished a single game in my life or played more than a few hours. Zelda just isn't my type of game. But I did enjoy Darksiders.

And I haven't even played Shadows of the Colossus. So that part in the game is probably going to be really exciting for me, as I'm totally new to it.

so just how buggy is this game on the PS3?

Well it glitched twice on me so far on the ps3

I reached this empty arena then the doors shut which usually means I have to fight someone or there is a puzzle i gotta solve. I ran around then figured there must be something wrong, so I restarted from check point and turns out there was suppose to be this large monster in the arena that for some reason didnt appear before I restarted.

funny thing is when you spend a long time with a boss the game tries to help you by zooming into objects to give u hints. But when the game glitched and there was no boss I spent about 5 minutes running around an empty arena till the game zoomed into a bunch of bombs.

I think the next game should be two player co-op and have Fury and Strife as a combo, then the next game can be the 4 player sequel to all three games :)

I don't think they'll do co-op yet, unless it's to avoid a financial issue to shorten things. And there's no real rule for games to fallow the rule of 3's like movies do. zelda, mario, "gow" Rachet and clank ETC , can all attest to that. I have a feeling their pushing for 5 games 4 if they don't/ can't make it to that.

Well they've said theyve been thinking of co-op since the first game. I wouldn't rule it out

I wouldn't mind if they make next game co-op, just to test the waters. But I would still be ok if they want to give everyone their own game. And if the next game turns out to be smaller again, and they focus on Strife, I wouldn't mind them to change the gameplay completely. I'd want a big focus on gun play. Maybe borrow elements from games like Vanquish.

See I was just thinking Strifes shooting and Furys whip could have some really cool 2 player combo implications.

Now, now, I didn't say to rule it out . It'd just be too early for it to be in the third installment. that's all I meant. and i don't see them doin so unless they won't be able to make it moneywise . Four characters the I'm see it should have equal story arc's. I think they want to ease players into it. and it wouldn't be fair that war and death other sib's have shortened solo stories. it's like your a parent you have equal solo time with all your kids. unless your one of those parents that plays favorites. which usual lead's to problem cause of how you chose that path. i can see them doin small taste in both the 3rd and fourth. it depends if they want to do so. We'll see. what happens.

thanks, guys.

it sounds like some ppl are getting bugs while other are not.

I think I'll wait a bit before getting it.......just to let everything iron out.

oh, and just out of curiosity, is the bird, Dust, a raven or crow (does the game specify)?

it's just a peeve of mine.........lol

It's a crow though most people view the two to be the same type of bird. As you know Corvo in dishornered means both if you've seen the info that's been put up on him.
