Darksiders 2

I haven't played the first one but plan to. This looks great.

Darksiders was great. In my opinion, it's just as good, if not better than its contemporaries in many ways.

"What starts with War, ends with Death"

One of the best taglines for a game. Not only is it awesome, but it's relevant to the story.
lol i really want this game to come out but with a saying like tag line it makes thing so final that I think death should saved for last of 4 horse men 2 wise. and put the other two characters a head of him so the tag line makes more sense impact wise. I'm just saying it's just so final. lol

Just that tagline got me excited! Such a good tagline. Probably one of the best. It makes sense with both the story and in general...plus it sounds awesome.

I never got into the first one. I played it for a few hours (3 or 4) and just never found myself interested. I'll give this one a go, most likely rent it. I do like the way it looks. And I am a sucker for RPGs...

Death Brings Nimble Platforming And Speedy Combat To Darksiders II

7:00AM Today |

In Vigil games’ upcoming Darksiders II, players assume the mantle of Death, who is pretty much the only “personified supernatural force” more badass than War, the protagonist of the first game. The video above demonstrates gameplay from the early chapters of the game, showcasing Death’s lighter move-set and quicker combat abilities. More

I have to say, I am looking forward to this game the most out of all other games this year (with the exception of Mass Effect 3)

I'm sort of looking forward to it more than Mass Effect 3. Which is more about me keeping my expectations of ME3 in check than not looking forward to it.

Yeah, actually I agree. I never really get excited about Mass Effect until the controller is in my hand again, but Darksiders 1 was so damn great and the prospect of a game that's 4 times bigger with RPG elements, levelling up, loot drops and sidequests, that is thoroughly exciting :P

Pretty sure that video's been posted 3 times now :P

Some great looking screen caps at the link. Actually all the shots I see posted above look really good too
Darksiders II Gets a Date and UK Pre-Order Incentives

THQ has announced the actual, proper launch date for Darksiders II today, seeing Death sharpening his scythe in time for late June. As is the fashion in this day and age, Darksiders II will have its own set of pre-order incentives too, in the shape of a few bonus DLC packs from selected retailers.
Pre-orders at GAME and Gamestation (and GameStop in Ireland), will garner the 'Death Rides' pack, which comes with several exclusive side quests set in locations like Maker's Realm and Dead Plains. It's there that you'll be able to take on these quests, earning additional experience and loot in the process including Karn's lost treasure, spread across around two hours of content.
The 'Deadly Despair' pack meanwhile, is available for anyone pre-ordering the game from Amazon.co.uk, giving you a permanent speed boost for Death's steed, Despair. You'll be able to gallop across the vast world of Darksiders II much quicker thanks to that one, which is nice.
Finally, another retailer yet to be confirmed will be getting the 'Angel of Death' pack with an angel-inspired set of enhanced armour with matching upgraded scythes and a visual trail for Death's crow, Dust.
Darksiders II will be coming to North America on June 26th and Europe on June 29th. Check out some new pre-order screens below.

Is anyone else disappointed that Death can only evade, instead of also being able to block/parry like War? The timing for that sucked in the first game, but that doesn't mean they have to leave it out of the sequel. It conveniently looks like a design decision (since Death isn't a brute like War was), but I'm not so sure. /rant

The overall combat does look much more fluid an involving this time around though, I must say. Death might be all about smoothness, but that hammer of his is damn sexy.
