well now we know why Joe mad left when thiois was told to GI during their live stream of border lands and when victor Lucas of EPD.tv/ ROTR mentioned it on his recent pod cast during halo the halo interview I knew it was all cause that THQ head had set the bar on how much money this should make too high. and joe mad had had it with that kind of environment.

That's very disappointing. Darksiders II is a great game that deserves better and THQ really needed a big hit.

the sad part is they were aim for four installments and now it'll most likely be cut short and be 3 now cause of all this. That's if they do it at all. and now marvel's in bed with them . oh well.

I don't know why they were expecting much. Amazing game yeah sure but the first was not very popular either was it

It was a hit but sorta like in the cult classic. Let's just say it was indeed talked about.

THQ's Q2 sees $107 million in net sales, needs more money for delays

THQ posted net sales of $107 million and an operating loss of $19 million in fiscal 2013's second quarter, which ended September 30. This is compared with 2012's Q2 results of $146 million in net sales, and an operating loss of $97 million.

In a bid to stay afloat, in 2012 THQ has undergone corporate reshuffling, has closed studios, laid off staff, rearranged its product line and enacted a reverse stock split. THQ's most recent mainstream launch was Darksiders 2, which sold 1.4 million copies in Q2 2013. THQ CEO Brian Farrell said these sales were "below our expectations."

THQ delayed South Park: The Stick of Truth, Company of Heroes 2 and Metro: Last Light today, citing a need for more time to realize the games' full potentials. This means THQ may seek more money from outside investors and through internal shake-ups in the interim, the fiscal report said.

"The calendar movement for the release of games will likely create a need for additional capital. THQ has engaged Centerview Partners LLC to assist the company in evaluating strategic and financing alternatives intended to improve THQ's overall liquidity, including raising additional capital, preserve the company's ability to bring the best possible games to market during the most advantageous release windows and to help address the $100 million 5% convertible senior notes due August 2014."

If it's sucha great game why is it still so unplayable? It's not a great game, until it's playable for everyone.

Um no. It's an amazing game whether or not its playable for you

THQ stock plummets during morning trading (4 hours ago)

THQ's stock is (as of this writing) down 42 percent, trading at $1.74, following yesterday's dramatic second quarter earnings conference call.

The conference call, which totaled 12 minutes, concluded with CEO Brian Farrell saying that the company had been "advised not to conduct a [question and answer] session" following prepared remarks because it is currently "exploring strategic alternatives" with a company that handles private equity deals.

THQ took drastic measures a few months ago to save its stock, after shares fell below a dollar and the company was threatened with NASDAQ delisting. The solution was a 10-to-one reverse stock split, turning THQ's 70 million shares into 7 million. That action moved the decimal point on the company's $0.51/share stock into $5.16/share. THQ's market capitalization at the time stood at $35.4 million. Now, a couple months later, with today's drop it sits at $11.9 million.

THQ has been working other angles to obtain cash to continue doing business, selling off its UFC license earlier this year to Electronic Arts for an "undisclosed cash payment." Selling off more assets is still on the table, but the company doesn't plan to disclose developments or progress until the board and its advisers at Centerview Partners LLC deem it appropriate.

Well great, will they ever fix this game so i can continue my playthru? Weak.

Yarp. :( They tried to fix it in the 1st bug, but it didn't fix my save file. I'm waiting for more patches, but they just released that new DLC, so how much emphasis they wish to put on bug fixing is pretty unsure, i'd imagen they just wanna cash in as much as possible, but how can that work when the word of mouth is so bad lol.

Wow, that sucks. you can't be the only case of this. It looks like right now they have lot of things to worry about. All I can say is if there is a way for you to contact them about your own personal issue like this is. I'd try it. Cause I don't how else this will be fixed for you.

Oh theres plenty of complainers on their official forums and Facebook page. =p

I'm sure right now THQ is running around in circles about the money loss and how they'll keep a float right now. the patch will be a while. oh then there's the dead pool game their mostlikely trying to convince marvel to stay with them. They have lot of issues to deal with.

The Deadpool game is from High Moon Studios which is owned by Activision.

hmm some part of me keeps thinking the two are connected . like high moon was under THQ . wonder what started that for me. My bad.

Death is here to chop Darksiders 2 prices by 66 percent for PC. Both Steam and Amazon currently have deals on the apocalyptic action game, dropping the regular $50 price to $17. The deal runs for the next day and a half of Steam, the Amazon sale doesn't say when its time is up.

Despite Darksiders 2 selling 1.4 million copies since launch, THQ CEO Brian Farrell said the game sold "below our expectations." The publisher is currently hanging on to life by a thread.

Darksiders II’s Third DLC Pack Goes Post Apocalyptic

December 3, 2012 . 5:12pmThe Demon Lord Belial pack will take place on a post-apocalyptic Earth, where Death encounters Belial along with the remnants of humanity.

Darksiders 2 'The Demon Lord Belial' DLC revealed, available tomorrow

Darksiders 2 will suddenly summon "The Demon Lord Belial" as downloadable content this week. Death seeks out the last remnants of humanity and faces off against the Demon Lord Belial in this DLC, which is included for those with a "Darksiders 2: Season Pass."

The Demon Lord Belial is $9.99 (800 Microsoft Points) and rides onto PS3, Xbox 360 and PC tomorrow, December 4. It'll cross the pond December 6 for Europeans with PS3s. Speaking of THQ, remember that you can pay what you want currently for a whole mess of games from the publisher in the Humble THQ Bundle.

"As the game deals a lot with words, we decided to go with a storybook approach. In stories, words are everything – words give life to the world and give meaning to actions. So what if all worlds are essentially made up of words?"

So there's still human's around on earth interesting.

I've been playing the first game again on Steam since I got it in the THQ bundle. I'm looking back at things that, while not awful and ruin the experience, would have been better if they changed it.

For example, enemies felt really punishing early and it doesn't help that you can only regain HP from chests, killing certain enemies, or potions.
Weapon combos were either useless (R1/RB+X) or just awkward to pull off (LS/L2+Back+X, I still don't know if I ever pulled this off).
No reason to use the Scythe or Gauntlet over the Chaoseater, would have been good to map those 2 to X and Y to force yourself to try something different.
Only the Abyssal Chain, Crossblade, and Voidwalker have use after you get them. The Earthcaller is especially pointless after about 3 hours.

Another thing that sucks with the PC version is some achievements don't unlock. I'm not a ****e for them, but if I get them, I want them to unlock.

I'll pick up Darksiders II during the next Steam sale. I hope it improved on some of those shortcomings of the first game.

you should look to see if there was patch on their forums for the first game for the pc. if there isn't one I'm sorry to hear it went bad for you there.

The achievements? I looked at the Steam forums, it's been an issue since it was released on the PC. Given the situation THQ has been in the last couple years, I imagine making a patch to make achievements work properly on Steam was very low on their to-do list.

yeah they are in a mess. Til darksiders studio in in another sponsors hands or THQ them selves are saved and until and "if" they get Joe mad back, that will be while til they fix all that. If ever.

Nah, it'll never be fixed. I highly doubt any studio will purchase Vigil or the Darksiders IP since it's not selling exceptionally well and Joe Mad jumped ship. Sadly, it's pretty much a dead franchise which is unfortunate since ending of the first one had a great ending to set up for a sequel.

Man you almost brought me to tears with that. and i mean it literally. Well the thing is Ubisoft and some others have expressed interest in buying parts of THQ. some of it might be Vigil it's self . I'm just being hopeful man. it's possible if that happens, what was done for sleeping dog's with square picking up the ip will be done for Vigil and the Darksiders series . Don't take our hope away man. Let's just wait and see for the time being.
