Darksiders 2

I doubt that sales for a prettier re-release of a game from a few years back is a good gauge of interest in a sequel. Just give us a sequel, please
nah, it was in my opinion(well not just my opinion, he has stated it on other older articles ) a way to also get the original makers of the game back (as older post have shown (he has been trying to get a hold of them each) finish it up. they have split into two entity of later after working for other studio's and mid level publishers and most of the fan base just want the series finished .

And while I'm sure the maker would love to finish this series, they need justification to come back and do so. other wise it's not worth it to them . this also why it was used as Gauge.

The ****ing story is only halfway done, that's why. The Charred Council is corrupt, we have no idea why they framed War, and they still have to bring back humanity.

hopefully new people that like Rpg's buy this edition. the same people that bouth it already shouldn't be buying this over and over again un less some overly was added to it as insentive orther wise they shouldn't bother. And yeah as series be they show's or games (of late) should be allowed to try finish the story they are or were telling. other wise it's like when we're kid's with the "Dungeon and dragon TAS ." of which your stuck asking " will those kids ever find their way home?" of a cliff hanger.

That bothers the lot of us til this day and why can't stand it when shows on tv as series aren't allowed to finish what they start. it's just plain wrong. Especially if it was a good series or your just invested as an audience viewer

GameFly has listed the original Darksiders for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U.

Both are listed as published by IP owner Nordic Games and due out on October 25.

Nordic Games previously remastered Darksiders 2 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition.

The ****ing story is only halfway done, that's why. The Charred Council is corrupt, we have no idea why they framed War, and they still have to bring back humanity.

I loved the first game so much, I wish we could've gotten a follow-up. I was never crazy about Darksiders 2 because I felt like it was a step in the wrong direction.

it'll only if nordic can convince both gunfire and air shipsydicate to come back and finish up what they did . the problem was prior to those studion being form was they were under under otherpubli9shers like cytek use before they formed and made those names up for them selves so nordic call of assistance most likely didn't reach them. and then we found out that the head of crytek USA was a scumbag by not paying all his workers .

So he may kept those letters from the air ship syndicate dev's that Nordic sent .

Nordic should try contacting them again now that they are an independent studio again and working on their own ips and reach out to gun fire games as well .

Darksiders 3 on the current gen would sell pretty well I think.

Airship is a small studio though. Do they have the staff to support a game like Darksiders 3?

Sorry for taking so long to answer this . well that's also why I mention the other half of vigil that made studio. gunfire games which went quiet since they took on the name after leaving crytek USA.

both studio's have stated they wanted to finish that series and both were vigil. if the head of nordic can get them both back to finish it.

also a special note I don't think I remember ether studio really stating their size. alot can happen in months .

this was put up to today in most gamer news outlets. why they changed their name to this I don't know. it's a weird move.

Nordic Games reincorporates to THQ Nordic

THQ is sorta-kinda back.

THQ-Nordic-Rebrand.jpg

Nordic Games has reincorporated itself. It is now known as THQ Nordic.
THQ was a video games publisher up until 2013. When the company closed, the little-known Nordic Games acquired 16 of its intellectual properties, including Darksiders and Red Faction.

“Whilst we take great pride in our Swedish roots and accomplished a great deal under the Nordic Games masthead, we decided it was time to incorporate the THQ name,” THQ Nordic said in a press release. “Those key brands will continue to shape our business in a meaningful way going forward, and THQ Nordic represents a core approach of doing much more than ‘owning’ a highly competitive portfolio of IPs.”

The press release adds that the company currently has 23 game projects in development, 13 of which have not yet been publicly announced, “but are sure to be in the next months.”

Get the full overview of the reincorporation below.
Obligatory Flashback
It all started out in Sweden in 2008 as a mini-venture to self-publish such illustrious titles like Dance Party Club Hits, Kart Racer and Truck Racer (just to name a few) on PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii. The following year, we landed We Sing, a million-plus selling karaoke franchise for Nintendo Wii. In 2011, with our first of many acquisitions to come, Nordic Games began its transformation from small scale, two-platform games publisher to a multi-platform, multi-genre global player.

One could say the most defining moment for our company happened in 2013, grabbing headlines like; “Who the **** is Nordic Games?”, “Darksiders Gets Bought By…Nordic Games?”, and “Nordic Games explains who the f they are, plans for THQ assets”. Funny enough, back then, this was so true. Until that point, we had been a low profile publisher uttering expletives of our own along the way, and all of a sudden we found ourselves in the international gaming media spotlight. We knew then, with great certainty, that we’d just made the best deal in our company´s history.

Nordic Games By The Numbers
Since our formation in 2008, we proudly look back on 8 years of continuous growth on all (!) aspects of our business, not just the bottom-line. During that time, 16 individual IPs and franchise acquisitions were concluded, resulting in a catalogue of more than 250 actively sold games, over 60 trademarks, hundreds of web domains and a few patents for hardware and software.

61 game development projects were initiated and have launched, and most importantly, we have created 82 jobs (if you include external development teams this number amounts to 325) and pride ourselves on our very, very, very low staff fluctuation, which basically amounts to zero.

Two development studios were setup – one located in Phoenix, Arizona (let’s hope Donald Trump reads this), the other one in Munich, Germany, and we have managed to grow our group wide team size from 2 in 2008 to 84 team members today.

Introducing THQ Nordic (the KISS part)
Whilst we take great pride in our Swedish roots and accomplished a great deal under the Nordic Games masthead, we decided it was time to incorporate the THQ name. Those key brands will continue to shape our business in a meaningful way going forward, and THQ Nordic represents a core approach of doing much more than “owning” a highly competitive portfolio of IPs. We cherish them, and align them with the very best development resources to expand upon them with the level of experience that communities and established fan bases expect and deserve. Side note – another upside to this whole rebrand thing is we don’t get asked about the Nordic Game parties at Gamescom anymore – it was the other guys who threw them.
With this rebrand we are entering the next phase in our company’s evolution.

As of now we have 23 game projects in development, 13 thereof have not yet been publicly announced, but are sure to be in the next months. Needless to say, the majority of these projects are based on former THQ owned IPs and franchises.
As far as the logo design is concerned, Lars Wingefors, founder and owner of THQ Nordic (formerly known as Nordic Games) would like to say this:

“As for the new logo design, we literally stumbled across it when browsing some art files, after we bought the THQ trademark and figured: why not? We hope the reception from our partners is less ambivalent but we’re OK either way. We invite you to our Gamescom booth to play our games and see the logo in large-scale format.”

Please visit us in Cologne and stop by our booth to take a look at our current projects and also some of our upcoming games. If you’re not interested at all, you can still pop by to charge your mobile phones, hunt Pokémons, or just hang out and chat with us.

Yeah it's definitely strange. Not unheard of though. Infrogrames changed their name to Atari after they bought them.

Wii U has some titles still in the tube!

Darksiders Warmastered Edition was confirmed for Wii U but had been rumored to be canceled due to silence from the developers. However, this has recently been disproven with a release date.
Darksiders Warmastered Edition will launch on Wii U on May 23, 2017, from publisher THQ Nordic. This new edition of the game is an improved version of the 2010 release. It will run at 1080p on PS4, Xbox One and PC at 60 frames per second, while the Wii U version will be at 30 fps.
The Wii U title will retail at $19.99.
In a backward development, the game's sequel, Darksiders II already saw a remastering on PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2015. In the same year, talk of a Darksiders 3 was tossed around but never fulfilled.
With the release of Darksiders Warmastered Edition, the option of a third entry may not entirely be off the table.
