So hey! Darksiders! M rated action/adventure game with Joe Madueira (Ultimates 3, Uncanny X-Men, Excalibur) as Creative Director! The game is made by Vigil Games (this is their very first game) and published by THQ!

Whats Darksiders about? Basicly you play as War, the Horseman of... Yeah War! The Apocalypse came and the Angels and Demons fought on earth, but wait! The **** happened too soon and War is blamed for this! So after 100 years War gets his chance for revenge and to clear his name, and the Elder Gods send Mark Hamill to do a Joker voiced demon to guide War through the game.

The gameplay has been said to be a mix of Devil May Cry/God of War-esque brutal combat, with alot of adventure themed Zelda games along with dungeons with puzzle solving and open world traveling with your trusty steed Ruin! So enough talk! Here's some trailers/videos to spark your interest.

hehe, You should as I told others in the batman AA thread this may be one of the last games Mark Hamil did voice work for. If he does indeed fully retire.

Hamill said he was retiring the Joker, he said he'd return for Joker if they did "The Killing Joke" movie or so. Ofcourse that was his personal opinion and he did the voice work for this game already last year. This game was originally planned to be released like in August/October but then they delayed it to January to have months to polish the gameplay and whatnot. ^_^

They probably delayed it to avoid competition. Looks kinda like Dragon Age Origins. Splinter Cell Conviction got delayed so it wouldn't have to compete with games like UC2 or MW2.

MMhm sales was also a reason. Both Bayonetta and Darksiders being new IPs are gonna have a tough job. Tho Bayonetta has the advantage of the original DMC maker being behind the project.

them doing that with splinter cell was a smart move. I mean assassins creed came out the same time as l4d 2 and alot of things I'm not sure how it's doing right now . I almost forgot about it.

And i have to pick it up later. alot later. I have splinter cell, alpha protical and the sabator on my list. ( seeing pandemic stedios was killed off by EA) I hope that last one is a good game. Man I have a list.

Having said that, I'm not really excited about this game. I'll take my Zelda clones without "edge" thank you very much.

Reminds me of Warcraft 3. You know, before Blizzard turned the franchise into WoW and ****ed the hell out of it. The main character, War, even looks kinda like Arthas.

Yeah Joe Madueira's style could work for Blizzard easily... I personally don't see the connection between Arthas outside the white hair really.

Face is a little similar. Plus when he has the hood he kinda looks like Arthas at the end of WC3. Just a little though.

Splinter Cell Conviction got delayed so it wouldn't have to compete with games like UC2

I don't see how that makes sense, since UC2 is a PS3 exclusive and SC would be releasing only on the Xbox at that point.

Most likely, Ubisoft didn't want their two big stealth-action games releasing at the exact same time.

My point remains. Lot of big games were coming out at the end of this year. Releasing SC:C early next year when there isn't much else would help sales.

If Ubisoft was against releasing games against MW2, then why did they release Assassin's Creed 2 right next to MW2, both games enjoying great sales?

Really, they probably figured Assassin's Creed 2 was on schedule, SC was not, and they didn't want to have their two blockbusters competing.

Ubisoft has a lot of faith in SplinterCell: Conviction, they just don't want it releasing in an environment where it's own titles will potentially cannibalize each others sales. They aren't fearful of competition, or else they would have held off on AC2 as well.

But anyway, Darksiders. I'm craving another Zelda-esque experience.

Darksiders has the problem that its a brand new IP, so they need to win some good time to get good sales. I mean ofcourse a good game always gets recognization but you always need a good date for it too.

And yeah okay i can agree he kinda looks like Arthas, since Arthas' WoW Model has him as this hulking musculer behemoth while he was *abit* sleeker in Warcraft 3. Just a tiny bit tho lol.

I remember when PlayStation games came in CD cases. Maybe that's what the next-gen games will be coming in, if this "Let's be as cheap as possible" mandate is still lasting then.

They would have kept the CD cases if they were better. I think DVD cases use cheaper plastic. Plus they're more durable.
