Okay I'm a person who carries around a backpack. To be more specific a canvas messenger bag. I'm about to get a canvas gas mask bag off ebay.

Most of the time I always back it and have it thrown in the back of the jeep anywhere I go with camera, notebook, papers and so on. I like being prepared. Same thing with having boots either on my feet or on stand by.

I sometimes get the "murse" statement thrown at me.

Anyone else get this thrown around at you?

I think something is considered "murseish" if its smaller than a messenger bag. And has certain feminine qualities about. And yet every now and then a friend will say that to me. I'll still use it regardless.

I have one of those tweed jackets that I where alot. Also a brown corduroy one with tan elbow patches. I occasionally get people calling me professor. Even with the jeans on.

I have a corduroy like that as well. the only shame is that the aren't that great for the winter. In winter cases I wear my duffle coat

Gotcha
Yeah I can't pull those blazers out in winter unless I have to go to a dinner or something. Right now I have to use a wool 3/4 coat.

I have other coats I could use but I'm finding that and a sweater is the best bet right now.

on the discussion of messenger bags. Mine is well worn in and beat all up. With marks of my travels around country. I thinks its large enough not to be considered "murse" worthy.

I can fit a small laptop in mine not a full 17 " laptop. Macbook,couple of thin books and headphones ( they don't fold ) and if i don't bring my laptop a tape recorder or a small video camera.

I definitely have plenty of black dresses/clothes I could wear the pumps with, that's true.

I have ordered plenty of clothes online before...if they don't fit, it's easy to return them.

I have a bit of old school behaviour in me so I like to be ready.

I'm about to update and get a field journal to put with me gear. Along with a pair of the most comfortableand lightweight boots I have ever worn in my entire life. The Timberland Earthkeepers 160 bucks so I gotta save my money on that investment.

my friend bought me a nice pair of retro Nike hightops...very simple white with blue swooosh

super comfy, but i have heard good things about those Earthkeepers, have to check those out
