It's going toward ILM to do the dream sequence where Zuckerberg meets CG versions of PC mascots.

I think this film may surprise alot of people; I doubt Fincher will sign on if it's only about Facebook. Just like his movie Fight Club isn't just a movie about a fight club, this movie won't just be about FB.

I'm sure you're right. I'm sure it will be about all the background scheming. I might pick up the book this is all based on.

The Facebook Movie is Coming Next October

Source:ComingSoon.net
December 8, 2009

ComingSoon.net has learned that Sony's Columbia Pictures has set an October 15, 2010 release date for director David Fincher's The Social Network, written by Aaron Sorkin and starring Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake, Andrew Garfield and Joe Mazzello.

The film centers on Mark Zuckenberg (Eisenberg), who created Facebook in 2004 at Harvard during his sophomore year.

Timberlake will play Sean Parker, the Napster co-founder who became Facebook's founding president and Andrew Garfield will play Eduardo Saverin, the Facebook co-founder who fell out with Zuckerberg over money.

The other movie scheduled for an Oct. 15 release is CBS Films' Faster, an action-drama starring Dwayne Johnson and Billy Bob Thornton.

I like the quote "You Don't Get to 500 Million Friends without Making a Few Enemies". Interesting poster.

Question: Is Mark Zuckerberg perceived as a jerk who ripped people off because Eisenburg usually plays roles that it seems that Michael Cera declined. This could be a good change for him

saw the trailer in theaters... looks stupid...

dont care for this at all

This trailer made me feel nothing. Nothing at all.

Sorry, Finch.

For a movie about Facebook, I'd say the Teaser was pretty effective....to me at least.

Good dialogue, as expected from Aaron Sorkin. I'm kinda glad this movie is getting made because I wasn't aware of the background information on Facebook. Looking at the history of it, I actually was a pretty early member (fall 2004, my first semester of college). It's crazy that Zuckerberg is now worth $4 billion and counting after just 6 years. He and Facebook are taking over the world. The behind-the-scenes stuff about how he stole the technology is pretty crazy. Bill Gates part II. haha

i find it funny how people dont understand anymore what teasers are. or what their purpose is.

I liked the trailer actually. The sound effect or music was effective.

The fact Fincher cast Timberlake in this is interesting.

Trent Reznor Is Scoring The Social Network
Posted on Thursday, July 1st, 2010 by David Chen

If the recently released teaser trailer for David Fincher’s The Social Network didn’t turn your crank, maybe this news will: According to an announcement on the Nine Inch Nails‘ website news feed (via Pitchfork), Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are writing the score for the film.

Unsurprisingly, Reznor wasn’t immediately drawn to the idea of a film based on the founding of Facebook, but when he read Sorkin’s script, he changed his mind:

I’ve always loved David’s work but quite honestly I wondered what would draw him to tell that story. When I actually read the script and realized what he was up to, I said goodbye to that free time I had planned. Atticus Ross and I have been on a creative roll so I asked him if he wanted to work on this with me and we signed on.
The two are still working on the score, but Reznor hints at the release process for the eventual soundtrack:
[W]e’re looking forward to the next phase - distilling the large amount of music we’ve written for this down to a satisfying record (or two). The film opens Oct 1 in the US with the record likely available a couple of weeks ahead of that.
Also, for those interested, Reznor calls the film “really ****ing good. And dark!”
This will not be Reznor’s first experience in the movie soundtrack world. Reznor fans might recall that he produced the soundtracks to Lost Highway, and Natural Born Killers, not to mention the mostly-ambient-noise soundtrack for the video game Quake. Based solely on the teaser trailer for The Social Network, which I wasn’t that impressed by, Reznor’s score may be the most hardcore thing about the film.

**** yeah.

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are awesome, this movie is going to be sweeeet!

I might have to see this because of Garfield.

Cool new trailer. It may give some people headaches but I like how it's different and showing it in the Facebook way. I couldn't care less about Facebook but I'm hearing good stuff about this. It seems like it could be better than I thought it would be. I thought it was gonna be a quicky comedy but this seems like it will be darker. Plus Garfield is in it, and this is one of the things that got him to audition for Spider-Man.

I can't watch the trailer since i'm at work but I still find this project a waste of time for a talented director like Fincher. I know this isn't necessarily true but it almost seems like a cash grab for the studio since it's based off something extremely popular and will no doubt get a whooole lot of asses in the seats. I can't help but think that the film was a trendy choice.

As for Reznor scoring the film, I would have been excited if it was in the '90s but I think his last few albums don't compare to his earlier stuff. Not saying I think he's bad now but his age has hit him and like most music artists his music has suffered since he doesn't have that energy and angst anymore.

47$ million spent on a movie about something that's on the internet? It's effing dumb,I like that Trent will work with Atticus Ross though,I just don't see how this movie can be effing good and dark when it's about something that is on the friggin internet for God's sakes. This is a perfect example of why it's not okay to accept original movies, because sometimes they result in stupid plots. Just like this movie, the trailer was stupid as hell.

I think it will not play out this way. Truth be told, I think this movie might bomb like a Jihad warrior. Nearly everybody's response to learning about this movie's existence consists of chuckles and rolleyes. And even though it could very possibly be a very good flick, it will still be labeled as that ''Facebook'' movie. And that sounds incredible sucky. And yes, I realize it's a drama about the invention of the website but still. It will need word of mouth most of all. I think the trailers so far are very well done and original but it won't get most people excited.

I think that the whole assumption that films based on popular things like facebook and mafia wars will be popular just because the things they are based on are popular is in some cases wrong. I might eat bread every day. I love that ****. But it doesn't mean I'll go and see Bread: The movie.
