David S. Goyer is gone from The Flash.

well, looks like jack black is going to be the lantern, flash and wonderwoman!!!!!!

:woot:

Well Goyer is a good collaborative writer, but not that great of a solo writer, or director. And Ryan Reynolds is an okay comedic actor but that's about it... so, I trust WB - they haven't really made a false move since Catwoman.

It´s funny to hear that both Goyer and Whedom were out of Flash and WW practically at the same time. My biggest fear is that they may be trying to be more "cost-effective" since SR wasn´t as successful as they expected it to be with all the money invested and stuff. With Goyer I´m a bit surprised, since the studio was very happy with BB - but then again Nolan was the main creative force that made the movie what it was.

I hope he is giving you a cut:woot::cwink:

I'm not bothered about Goyer going after Blade Trinity, hopefully they will get a more seasoned director but from what i read this is on the backburner for now

I hope both Goyer's and Whedon WW scripts pop up somewhere online, so we could judge by ourself if they were really good. And for Flash, from what Goyer said on his blog, it looks like someone else is working on the movie.

What i dont like is how he said that WB didn't like the direction his movie was going in. I mean, he may not be the best writer in terms of details like dialogue, but I certainly liked the general outlined I'd heard. I think he said he wanted a movie with both Barry Allen and Wally West, which I really liked. So if they had just not liked his skill as a writer that would've been one thing, but I hope they dont have something planned that's completely different.
Yeah I hated seeing Goyer go. It would have been interesting to see Barry and Wally. :csad:

Thank god, WB seen the light and will get some talented writers instead of geek-favorites to write these movies

THANK YOU LORD

To be truthful, no one knows what would have come out of it, but i´m 80% sure that it would suck....a lot.
Goyer can´t direct s**t (Blade III anyone, and it was his baby, the Blade franchise, i mean), and he can´t write s**t....expect action scenes.

except action scenes. ;)

I think Goyer can write really good stuff if he's being steered by a talented director (Norrington, Del Toro, Nolan). Otherwise it could be messy. (Blade 3).

Anyone else think a Justice League movie is coming?

I guess WB can really only handle 2 superheroes at a time for 30 years.

thank **** for that blade 3 was an absolute DISGRACE he would have destoyed the flash.

sad news for whedon but to be honest I like the warner idea of a 1940's ww so it's all good

WB suck they can't even manage to put out a superhero movie that isn't Batman, Superman or Catwoman/steel (which don't count in my opinion :cwink: ). Considering the roster of superheros the DC has it seems weird that with the comic book movie craze over the last 10 years they haven't put ou more films. Not including the V for Vendetta and Constantine DC seems slow on getting these movies into production, even if they do only have one studio to put out these films.

I think DC/Warner Bros should open a film studio sub divison like Marvel have that focuses on just Comic Book movies. Then the Green Laterns, Flashes, Wonder Womans, Green Arrows and others might see the big screen some time this side soon.

Wow! Some of you guys complain about everything! Both Whedon and Goyer are gone but I'd trust them to make better movies than WB any day! WB was planning on raping Green Lantern like it did Catwoman and Batman in the 90s. I can't wait til these movies come out, if they come out cuase the same people who are happy that Whedon and Goyer are off will be screaming for them to come back cause I don't have any faith whatsoever that the WB can produce a capable superhero flick with out an appropriate director, Batman Begins being the only exception. :o

What ever happened to his 'The Invisible' movie?
We had a trailer ages ago and then nothing...

Well thats the end of Ryan Reynolds.

No worries though. By the time this thing finally starts scripted, Ryan will prolly be like 40 something -_-
Not really, Reynolds seemed pretty interested in it. He would probably do it without Goyer. Routh was carrried over from Ratner and MCG.

Personally, I was getting the vibe that Whedon didn't have the right vision. Goyer may have had the right vision but his writing is only good when curved by a good director. And after Blade 3, his directing ability is questionable.

Great, Whedon's gone and now Goyer's gone. I hope this means that the WB had better know what they're doing if they're bringing in new people. We know how the fiasco that was Catwoman ended up...

One way or another, it feels like a weird coincidence that both their takes were dropped almost simultaneously. One guess I´m having is budget problems. After SR, the studio may be not willing to spend too much money on cinematically untested superhero properties. Maybe they weren´t willing to afford the movies that Whedom and Goyer wanted to make. Just a thought.

I'd taken Whedon's version over that WB/WW2 crap any day. Blade 3 isn't as bad as people make it out to be, he was introducing new characters. I'd give Goyer another chance cause he's a good writer..........Sage? from Smallville forum?

No. Blade III was crap.

And for the record, Silver has no intention of going the WW2 route but I have a feeling theyre taking other fresh ideas out of that script they bought.

No, Sage from your momma's house.

Of course from the Smallville forum! :p

And who knows how the World War II story will turn out. Could be based on the early Wonder Woman stories, which I wouldn't mind. If you think about it, it would work well considering who Wonder Woman's main nemesis is. Though he'd work well in this time period as well.
