David S. Goyer is gone from The Flash.

Thankfully we still have Great Marvel movies to look forward too, the WB/DC can't seem to get a grip on anything when it comes to their movies. Batman was great, so was Superman(though it could have been excellent). At least for me, with the exit of Whedon and Goyer, there is no reason to see these movies anymore.

I dislike WWII.
Modern is always the best preference, IMO.

No, Sage from your momma's house.

Of course from the Smallville forum! :p

And who knows how the World War II story will turn out. Could be based on the early Wonder Woman stories, which I wouldn't mind. If you think about it, it would work well considering who Wonder Woman's main nemesis is. Though he'd work well in this time period as well.

Sage!!!
Diana is better suited for this time. I really don't see a superhero movie doing well set in war.

The WW2 storyline would rock. Mainly because its the ideal origin for Wonder Woman and since shes ageless, she could return to mans world in the present for the sequel.

WB is not playing games, doesnt suprise me tho, i hadnt heard anythin about these films for a while they seemed dead in the water!!

except action scenes. ;)

I think Goyer can write really good stuff if he's being steered by a talented director (Norrington, Del Toro, Nolan). Otherwise it could be messy. (Blade 3).
I still feel that he is a sh**ty writer, and those mentioned above are not that good to begin with (as writing goes, i mean).
The biggest problem, IMO, with the Blade franchise is that they are nothing more than action movies, and comic books are much more than that (hence the "except action scenes" bit).
Blade II is a good movie because of Del Toro (one of the best directors out there), not because of the script.
I find Blade an ok action movie, so, i wouldn´t put Norrington next to talented director, LXG anyone?
As for Batman Begins, that´s an amazing movie (not the perfect Batman, but let´s drop it for now), and that goes all to Nolan.
It might have been his best script to date, but is rather mediocre.
To his credit, i give that he made a great Blade update, it took the comic and made it better, with cool characters and an amazing villain (Nomak and the Reappers), but, then again, he would have to get something right sooner or later.

All in all, Goyer doesn´t deserve to be in almost every comic book made (not even one), and i´m glad he is gone.

Damn it! This is HORRIBLE news!

But: WHY???

This is the guy who WROTE Batman Begins for crying out loud!

He might not have done great with the Blade films. But, he made the best Batman film to date!!! So, why just can him off the bat? (Pun not intended)

God, I hope DC doesn't do more Catwomans.

Jack Black: Yeah, over at DC they looked over my work and liked what they saw. And from that, I guess, they said- he's the man for the job, he should be Green Lantern! Don't know why, but hey- if they think I'm the best guy for the whole... I'm all for that.

/\ Nope, not an actual quote- yet... and please god don't have JB be Green Lantern!!! He's a good actor, but he's not a super hero material!

Both Flash and Wonder Woman were vapor movies. For God's sakes, Goyer and Wheldon got signed on 2 years ago, and nothing happened. I know something was up.

I think the semi-failure of Superman Returns didn't help, and with Batman being the only legit tentpole, I guess WB is paranoid.

Goyer didn´t made the best Batman film to date, Nolan did.
Like you stated above, he wrote it, and to make and to write are two diferent things.
Besides, it was a mediocre script.

Yeah, I think we've known for a while that these two projects weren't getting of the ground. Personally, I'm fine with waiting for a film if it means getting a better product. That kinda seems to be DC's way, as opposed to Marvel who'll let anyone direct anything as long as they can get it out on time.

Yeah, while I thought the story was awesome and even quiet a bit of the dialogue. He had extreme trouble handling the Bruce Wayne/Batman character. He'd often shift to a Batman or Bruce persona at inappropriate moments and had trouble fully fleshing him out IMO.

I personaly think David Goyer is a brilliant writer but a horrible director. I was exited when i heard they were doing "The Flash" film, i was like the perfect guy to play the Flash would have been Ryan Reynolds. I mean if you are basing the story to the Wally West "Flash" (Which they are) Ryan Reynold fit the perfect part of Wally West. He has charisma, personality, and looks alot like Wally West. I still think they should keep Ryan, i can't see no one else playing Wally accept for Ryan Reynolds

and Snyder will be dropping out of Watchmen in five, four, three, two...
and the future of the DC film saga is officially in jeopardy.

Damn, I loved EVERYthing i had heard so far about the way he was going with it. It's gona suck to not have a lot of those things come about now.

Meh. Goyer with Nolan is one thing. Goyer with Goyer is another entirely. Goyer indicated that WB is going in a different direction, not that they didn't want to make THE FLASH at all. It'll be interesting to see where this goes, and what the direction he wanted to go in was. Maybe some more details about his story will leak. HINT: Ask him what he was planning, movie guys!

Wouldn't you be, if you were them?

No offense, but I wouldn't exactly greenlight a 100M+ budgeted WW movie.

Well, I've never been into the Flash, but I wouldn't exactly bet on my life that he's got the fanbase to rake in 100M domestic...

the only good warner superhero movie in ages was BB, I thought SR was a load of old rubbish.

warner are scared simple as that.

Warner Bros. last comic movies have been:
Constantine
Batman Begins
V For Vendetta
Superman Returns
300

Sure, Superman Returns has its fanboy critics - but you have to admit that WB's track record with their DC-Vertigo films is quite good in the last few years.

Now they need to give Timm/Dini control of the film :cmad:

Michael Rosenbaum for Flash DAMN IT!

You're exactly right, that's just the way it is right now I guess. Flash and Wonder Woman both have a lot of potential to be good movies. Its just that DC knows how hard it was to bring Superman and Batman back to film and they don't want to take any other big risks. On the other hand, Marvel is the opposite and wants to get all their properties on the screen even if they flop. They understand that for every Spider Man there's a Dare Devil, but its okay with them as long as it gets made. DC apparently feels that they can't live with embarrassments like Batman and Robin and don't want to make it any worse.
