YAAAAAAAASSSS hunty!

I really, really want this to be good. I enjoyed Rise, but this looks better than that from the little we've seen. Shouldn't we be hearing early buzz for it soon?

Critics get to see this Thursday. I hope there's no embargo. I'm usually ok with spoilers but with this film I don't want to be spoiled.

i also dont want to get spoiled. i think the third act and the last 10 minutes will be intense and full on emotions. i expect a big twist.

Dem monkeys cray cray.

Have you guys heard of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: Firestorm?

Its a tie in novel, bridging the gaps between Rise and Dawn.

I just found out about this and have heard good things.

Writing something like this has to be a bit of thankless job though.

Edit, here's an interview with the author!

I think its really cool that they found a science fiction writer who also has degrees in Anthropology to write this. I've got a lot on my "to read" pile, but I may have to get this.

I never really thought about how crazy it had to have been doing mo-cap outside and positioning all of those cameras. In the Lord of the Rings, Jackson filmed Serkis outside but they were really doing performance capture back then, he was more or less just a reference for animators. Beyond that, James Cameron works in his "volume" a big empty conrtolled space where the motion tracking censors can be controlled and placed anywhere. Rise had mocap on real sets and in some parts outside but its crazy the extent to which this new film took motion capture out to the forest.

Andy Serkis creates a conversation between Gollum and Caesar. Pretty cool!

I'm so excited for this film,it's hard but I haven't been watching most trailers or reading tonsnofninfoncause I really want to be surprised through it,Beens tarting to do that with other movies like with X Men DOFP

Couple critics on Twitter said this is great and the movie of the summer. Also it has a very Ape worthy ending. Can't wait.

I cant imagine this sucking, the last one was lighting in a bottle and a director who had a clear vision of the story he wanted to tell through the eyes of ceaser and his uprising. If they can improve upon what worked in the 1st movie then I'll be happy, I just wished that Franco would have been back though.

They replaced him with better actors. I'm not at all to see Franco mostly excluded. He didn't like the first film anyways.

I think Reeves is an awesome director. He's good at working with people on the technical side of things, even if that isn't his personal area of expertise and really puts a lot of thought into characters and relationships. His commentary for Cloverfield is actually kind of jarring in that respect. He really forms relationships with his actors and with Smit-McPhee and Keri Russel he has brought in people that he has worked well with before. Everything I've heard about this film seems like he knocked out of the park and I'm happy to see him get this level of work.

The twitter reaction last night got me SO PUMPED. Getting a DoFP vibe here. This one is going to be special.
