I shall avoid the reviews, but glad to know it's positive.

Can I admit something? Even though I'm an Apes fan (casual, anyway) I still haven't seen Rise. I just... never got around to it, I guess. I will before this one comes out, though.

Also, the only two shots I've seen from this movie have been Clarke yelling that he wants to speak to Caesar and the following shot of the Apes in the trees. That's it. That's all I know about the movie other than it's getting very good reviews.

I don't think I've ever gone into a movie this blind, and it's very exciting.

Get a copy or find a stream.

I wish I had your restraint. There are so many scenes in the trailers that will be mind-blowing for you in theaters.

I liked Rise well enough though I wasn't gaga over it as a lot of internet geeks I've talked to are. Something about the speedy/easy fix of a magic virus that does all the heavy plot lifting rather than the long, long way the original series said the switch from humans to apes happened(which lends A LOT towards the believability of the premise) always held the film back for me.

THIS FILM however, I expect much better thing from since Reeves's last 2 films I thought were great and I loved them. He's the main reason I'm excited for this movie.

To be fair, even in the original series, the 4th film negated the "long long" evolution timeline described by Cornelius in the third film by having apes more or less evolve in barely 20 years.

Even with the human population decimated, the ape society is still quite small and forming in this film, 10 years after Rise.

And yes, Reeves is awesome.

Watching Adult Swim now and they have a commercial composed entirely of that infsamous Koba scene now.

I love Rise, Dawn seems to be something to really be astonished by. Visually and story wise. I simply cannot wait.

Surprisingly no. John Hazelton, never heard of him before until now. But he's quite the "contrarian" when it comes to film. So ya maybe a Armond White in the making.
Almond Hazelnut the ultimate critic troll name.

This is my most anticipated film of the summer after Godzilla, and the early buzz is glowing except for one review, which I won't even take into account because the positive reviews aren't simply positive, they are glowing.

I was one that was completely taken aback by how good "Rise" was and I'm so glad "Dawn" is looking to do what all great sequels need to do.

And hot damn, is it me or is this summer one of the best for sequels ever? I know TASM2 divided people but I loved it. Cap 2, X-Men: DOFP, 22 Jump Street (which is arguably the best comedy sequel ever made), How To Train Your Dragon 2 (a film I already deemed one of the best sequels ever) and now Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is looking to be another surprise.

This is a damn great summer for me. I've been having a blast.

Nah this has nothing to do with that. There are troll critics, that want click bait. So they will say the opposite just to get a rise out of people, and get them to click on their article. I won't click on them however. But some just go against the grain for the sake of doing so rather than giving an actual opinion on it. Not all do this, but the guy that gives Jack and Jill a good review will raise eyebrows for me.

I felt we got a new classic with the first one,I have no doubt this will be even better,From Alien to Alien type classics!

I don't know Sol I see it happen an awful lot and it makes me uncomfortable. I just think that somebody should be allowed to dislike TDK and The Avengers without being labled a troll. I use those two films for obvious reasons.

Star Wars has the force.net
Lord of the Rings/Hobbit has TheOneRing.net
Jurassic Park has JPLegacy.org

So does Apes have their own go-to fan site?

I understand, and there are those out there that do that. But the guy I have talked about with this is a contrarian. He seems to do the opposite of what everyone else says.

And yes there are legitimates out there like that, that truly have a different opinion. But people like Mr. White know what they are doing, and do it for attention rather than their actual opinion. There will be those that don't like this film, or many other films, that is not what bugs me, but it's the ones you can tell are doing this for hits, rather than true feelings. But again...Jack and Jill. lol.

I would say most the time I completely agree with you, but when I see a track record like this guys, being quite like Mr. Whites. It makes me scratch my chin.

I think it's more on attitudes than tastes that get me riled up.

Ya, people with different tastes don't bug me. But the ones that seem to have some objective behind it, possible clickbait etc, is what kinda makes me shake my head. And the guy may have really disliked it, but just looking at his history of reviewing, it kinda makes you wonder.

I'm not going to defend Armond White Sol.

I don't know about this guy but I do know that I've never subjected myself to Jack and Jill. :funny: I just ignore guys like White but I understand how it can annoy people.

Ya for the most part I just ignore it.

But Jack and Jill lol.

I watched 20 minutes of that film, and ended up in a coma. Even for Sandler, it was a new low.

^You poor thing, 20 minutes of your soul being crushed. I hope you watched one of the Star Wars movies to wash away the horrors that Sandler inflicted on you.

Let's hope ;) Because Sandler has left a dark spot on my soul.

I hope we get "Noo!!" Type of sequence like we got in Rise.

Agreed. I saw someone who said that they thought the latest Transformers was the best summer movie, he enjoyed it immensely and was labelled a troll for daring to place it above others.
