I really got a TV vibe from Avengers. Not sure sure why but it never looked like a movie to me (and I adore Avengers). Dont think it'll bother me in Dawn though.

I always chalked it up to the very pretty and pristine look everything had...

I really enjoy Avengers but some of the sets and such look fake because of the HD-cameras they used. It's sort of like how MTV/CW (not Arrow)/CBS shows are too perfect and therefor look odd.

like the BMW set never looked 'real' but it looked lived in, while BMW looks no different than a soundstage with cardboard walls...

Arrow looks fake as hell.

(I await the stoning to come.)

I'll give you Laurel's apartment and such but they shoot in real settings most of the time, especially the rooftops...

As does many a show on CBS and other networks. Nothing in AVENGERS looked any more fake to me than the rest of the MCU films, excepting Asgard in THOR and, it's kinda supposed to look fantasy fake to my mind.

I don't think anyone would say a damn thing about "TV"in regards to the Avengers if the director's history didn't primarily involve TV work.

"Ugh, what is this, Dollhouse?"

Nah the only marvel film to look like a TV show was the first Thor with its half finished backlot town, population: 10 extras.

Really curious what the next film will be about. Looking forward to seeing this again. Im making sure its 2D because the 3D didnt add anything.Caesar is one of my favorite characters ever.

Just got back. Wow. Amazing film! Blown away.

Koba and Oldman were straight GANGSTER!

Forget the summer, this is the best film of the year (so far). It totally blew away Rise, it's that good.

As great as the actors playing the humans were, Andy Serkis and the rest of the actors portraying the apes just knocked it out of the park. Koba stole the movie for me at times. What an awesome villain he was. [BLACKOUT]There's no way that fall killed him. He'll be back again. [/BLACKOUT]

Can this be the movie that finally makes the Academy acknowledge motion capture performance?

Koba was awesome. But I felt bad for him too. The best kind of villain.

Yeah, it's actually hard to call Koba a villain really, where he's coming from is completely understandable, as is Gary Oldman's characters. Koba just takes it a step too far. So there's really no villains in this film.

All the cgi is great but the work on Maurice was amazing. Looked liked someone in a suit.

I haven't seen this yet but hearing Matt Reeves discuss the exploration of the animalistic traits in humans and the human traits in animals really intrigued me.

Can't wait to see this tomorrow with my 13 year old daughter. She loved Rise.

I'd actually would really like to see the entire film in it's raw state with the actors.

Based on the previews I thought Oldman was going to be more of a villain. I liked the way they went with it more.

How is he not a villain?

[BLACKOUT]He killed three humans in cold blood, shot Caesar and sabotaged his own home to start a war. Later on, he throws a young ape to his death. Sounds like a villain to me. [/BLACKOUT]

We see why he is the way he is, but I did not sympathize with Koba at all. Gary Oldman's character, on the other hand, I would not classify as a villain.

Someone as mentally scarred as Koba has justification for his hatred. 'Human, work' he said to Caesar pointing out the scars of years of torture. He took it to extremes no doubt but at the end of the day his actions are based on past events that weren't in his control. In the end he let his hatred consume him to a point of no return, but I don't necessarily think that makes him a villain in the traditional sense.

He passed the point of no return with his actions.

He passed the point of no return with his actions.

Won't get any argument from me there, but I see more of a tragic character than a straight up villain, almost an extreme version of Harvey Dent.
