SYNOPSIS:

DC REBORN
___________
December 24, 1985
The day Superman left.
It was on that day that the age of heroes ended and the world descended into near-anarchy for over a year.

January 1, 2009
The day Superman came back.
On that day the Second Age of Heroes was ushered in and men and women around the world took up the hero mantle and followed his example.
But what if Superman's return wasn't the only thing that sparked the new Golden Age?


Volume 1:

SUPERMAN REBORN (4 Issues) by SuperMonkey (and possibly by kayjayd)
will feature the adventures of the Man of Steel, telling his origin in flashbacks and will partially be told in the First-Person.

BATMAN ORIGIN (4 Issues) by DeGenerate10
will be a very dark version of the Caped Crusader, on par with Tim Burton's film.

GREEN LANTERN - EMERALD GENESIS (3 Issues) by SuperMonkey
features Hal Jordan and Sinestro as the Green Lanterns of Sector 2814, showing how Jordan struggles with the urge to use the power of the ring for evil purposes.

LEGACY of SHAZAM! (8 Issues) by chuckymack and SuperMonkey
will follow the history of the Champions of the Gods from Ancient Canaan with the wizard Shazam through to Modern times with Billy Batson. Black Adam, Vandal Savage and many others will make appearances.

I have rough drafts on another computer and will PM them to the writers within 2 weeks. You can expect to see the first issues sometime in early 2009.

I will be Editor and creative director and will be plotting the first few arcs, but once I have determined the writer's strength, I will probably turn the job of plotting the stories over to the writers. All of the above series are minis, a few issues of Volume 2 will be released sometime after the minis are finished.

I am talking to a potential artist and we may have a series or two drawn in real comic format, but until I get more artists, we shouldn't hope for too much.

To the writers (and potential artist) I apologize for the delay in getting the rough drafts out, my computer crashed and I lost most of the data. I'll be going home in a couple days and will get the plots off my main computer.

Actually I'm very interested in doing Batman. I've been experimenting with comic book scripts like how the professionals write them. I don't know if you were thinking of doing it like this or short stories or what.

It would focus on Bruce corruption within the board of Wayne Enterprises (an element which found its way into Begins to some extent), police affiliation with the mafia, etc. here are some character's outlines:
Harvey dent:
[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Harvey Dent is Bruce Wayne's best friend and lawyer. Harvey's a few years older; rich, spoiled, selfish, and bored. Harvey wants to be a district attorney, but his friendship with Bruce and the excitement therein might lead him to take a different route later in life. Harvey "has no shame," and is always trying to get Bruce to lighten up a bit.Dent wsuffers from deep-seated psychological trauma resulting from years of repressed anger. As a result, he develops an alternate personality, who is as evil as his outer appearance is noble and come out in the form of violent bursts of anger.Dent tries to rebuild Gotham's image for the better. I want this to be a year one series so we can look at Harvey's past abusive acoholic father, bullies, and Dent's drinking problems) to see Harvey's dark side before Two-face. Harvey Dent is two-faced, but not from acid -- it's just his personality. The guy's a backstabber, a two-timer. [/FONT]

here the death of bruce's parents. I'm using elements from different batman stories

6 year old Bruce Wayne was just prancing around pretending he's swordfighting. "En Guard! En Guard!" Bruce yells. Bruce had been en captivated by the heroes zoro and robin hood for days now. He turned to his mom "Can we see the movie again tommorow" He pleaded using puppy dog eyes. He was spoiled. His father was a wealthy surgeon, and considered one of the wealthiest men in all of Gotham City. Bruce's grandfather had been a captain of industry when the spires of Gotham were first built, and the Waynes were considered the city's first family. Thomas Wayne, on the other hand, found his calling as a doctor. Bruce's mother Martha, on the other hand, had been a fashion designer before she met Thomas. The press called her a trophy wife, but even Bruce knew better. 'Mabye we will getting it on dvd." Martha constantly worried about Bruce's health and education. She thinks Bruce has asthma so she always makes him read and study and play chess. "Awwww. Where's Alfred.It 's four minutes. He should be back by now." Bruce says looking left and right . Alfred was Thomas's most truted freind. They both fought in the war and Alfred used to work as doctor for the mafia. When the mob killed his wife and threated to kill his daughter, Alfred sent his daughter to Europe and then found work with the Waynes as their butler. Bruce then sees some homeless guy on the floor. " We should give him money.It looks like he needs it." Bruce said. "I don't know. Mabye he will spend it on drugs or alcohal." Thomas said. "or hookers.' whisper Martha. "Please" Bruce said with puppy dog eyes. "Okay. I'll give him fifty dollars." Thomas said. the man jumps up. "Give me your pearls and wallet too." His parents struggle with the mugger in the alley.'Get away from her you monster" Thomas yells.The mugger (who will not be found by police or batman) found shoves Tom back. 'No! Get off me. You can't have it.' Martha said slapping him. The bum grabs mother viciously by the throat and she's choking.Pearls bounce on the pavement.Tom takes a swing at the mugger. "Crazy bastards.' the mugger yells with shock. Mrs. Wayne screamed while the man in black forced her against a wall while her husband was being beaten to death, the image of blood on the attacker’s knuckles remained fresh in his mind. And in the midst of the horror, Bruce cried."No Dad, he's got a...." Bruce yells BANG!Bruce flinches while blood sprays on his face.BANG!BANG! BANG! Martha gets shot and dies faster because of her weak heart. Thomas gets shot four times and also the brutal beating killed him. They hear the police car coming. He saw as the man run off and tries to kill Bruce but the shot only hits his arm because bruce duck, the bum in running. The boy fell to his knees. He looked at the bodies of his parents. he remebers eariler on in the day.

He watched the television. he stared intently at the news. The big story was about a massive meteor shower in the Kansas town of Smallville. He wondered if he should ask his father if he was going to help those people. They should could use it. He knew that his father would help. He always did. He still watched as a little girl dressed in a pink fairy princess dress was shown crying holding on to her aunt. Anyway that's what the news reports said. The familiy butler entered the room a moment later. He smiled at the boy. He was proud that the child had taken interest of the world's events. This child was not like the others the Butler had work for over the years . He said to himself he cared about others. Something he learned for his parents. Now however it was time for him to leave to the movies with his mother and father. The boy asked if he would keep tabs on the events in Smallville. He promised he would and wished the boy to have a good time with his parents. Then he turned he attention to the T.V. he shook his head it was a shame that child that beautiful was in the middle of hell.
Now Smallville,Kansas was half a world away.

Bruce then becomes a vigtilante who does things such as this (http://the_twinz.tripod.com/batman.htm) plus he force feeds drugs to drug dealers. His anarchical terrorism is a thorn in everyone'ssides so the police evreyone veiws him as mentally unstable and a terrorist and criminal so a manhunt is issued for Batman.

I don't recall giving you the job quite yet, Iron. No offense,but based on what you sent me, I don't think this would be best for you. You need to work on your writing. Not sure if it's the boards or not, but there should be paragraphs. I think you would be good for plotting stories though.

You should plan out a few Batman story arcs and send it to me and I'll look 'em over. You have a lot of potential, it's just not quite fully there yet.

I'll be sending all of you some outlines of the first few issues soon. I have two writers for Shazam so I'll be splitting up the scenes there but It'll probably take some editing afterwards.

In addition, I'll be writing the first arc of GL and probably a few more as well as the first issue of Shazam.
