Here are a couple of "Announcement" Teaser Posters I whipped up for Flash and Wonder Woman. Both follow the basic idea of the Superman Returns teaser poster -- showing the hero's symbol against a simple background...

THE FLASH...

WONDER WOMAN...

I'm planning to do a Green Lantern one in this style as well... plus others in different styles.

simple but very cool. It worked for Superman and for Batman, I could see WB do the same thing with some other heroes too.

Not bad with the GL one. But I would have used his oath as some of the text insted of "Earth's Last Hope" maybe go with a series of posters and start with " In the brightest day " then go from there. Or just use " Beware my power, Green Latern's Light ".

So, you learned how to use Multiple layers, use the burn effect, and change the hue of a generic metallic background and adding some gradient effects?

Not impressed, they're the same damn things with different logos, you even used the same damn font for Flash and Green Lantern!

You have impressed me with your photoshop knowledge. Please by all means start your own thread and show us what they should have looked like.

BTW, great job D4rkseid!

I used to have an art thread, way back in the day, before my account expired with the yearly clean up. Also, I'm not impressed by it, constructive criticism btw.

I always imagined the best way to go for the Green Lantern teaser poster campaign would be to have four large posters appear in theatres and the internet completely unnanounced, just suprise everybody... A little bit like that very first Ledger joker photo over a year ago.
The first poster is an image of a small group of what look like robed dwarves (the guardians) standing with their backs to us, in front of Oa's power battery, basked in green light. It just says "In Brightest Day, In Blackest night..."

The second poster is of a massive beastly looking humanoid mostly bathed in darkness(Kilowog), the only tantalising glimpses of him are illuminated by the glowing green ring on his huge finger (reminiscent of Ang lees Hulk poster). It just says "No Evil Shall Escape My Sight..."

The third poster is of a wiry, sinewy looking man, hdden mostly in darkness (Sinestro), again the only details (including the moustache) are lit by the rings green light. It just says "Let Those Who Worship Evils Might..."

And Finally, the fourth poster is Hal Jordan Standing there fully illuminated, the poster is completely lit up by the glowing ring on his finger that he is pointing straight forward at us... It says underneath "Beware My Power, Green Lantern's Light!"

I really do think SPECIAL care has to go into the green lantern flick, He's the ONLY major league A-List Superhero who's never received live-action treatment (I dont count the JLA pilot, and if your in any way intelligent neither do you)... Odd considering that his movie franchise has the potential to be the absolut best of them all! It has everything! This could be the Lord Of The Rings of superhero trilogies... Think About It!

"I'm not impressed" just didn't seem to be very constructive. Perhaps you could give D4rkseid some advice of what could be done better?

On a side note, surely you still have some artwork you could post. Start a new thread! I take it from your earlier statements about Photoshop that you are pretty skilled with it. Heck, I just learned how to make smoke two days ago! LOL

I can't really post a lot as it'd give me away.
More constructive criticism that can actually be used:
Why metallic backgrounds? Surely the Flash background should be cloth at least, I'm not trying to sound like I'm saying it sucks, they just all look the same.

Frankly I think they work great for teaser posters. Any one who remembers when Batman 89 came out all the poster had was a close up of the batman logo with a black background. A very simple poster but it worked on many levels to advertise the movie. I don't think you need to show any thing of the character when it is just a teaser. Sometimes it just take a logo.

They're TEASER posters, they arent supposed to be anything amazing.

I love that you're taking the time and having some fun with these D4rkseid.

There are a few things I would mention. It seems you've over used embossing a bit. Perhaps a better idea would be to do a flat logo, on top of a texture that would be the same or similar to the texture of a costume. The only one that would kinda work with the emboss is the Wonder Woman one.

They're a good idea. but could be progressed into a really solid concept.

Cheers, jackass. If you want to show me how it's done, by all means have a go. Constructive criticism is one thing, being a prick is another.

I said in the first post that I whipped them up to give some idea of what I thought the posters could look like, and for the record Flash and the GL's fonts are actually different.

Thanks to everybody who is either giving compliments or suggesting ideas that could help to improve them without being an arse.

Amazingly I completely with this entire statement;) I love your ideas and agree GL could and should be HUGE! I would film a trilogy all at once with up and comers before they get big.
