Superman - Lose the cape.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the day I stop reading DC Comics.
Happy Independence Day, Guest!
Superman - Lose the cape.
I take it you skipped the Electric Supes period, then.
I don't think I like any of your ideas for the JLA outside of the ones you're just keeping the same...![]()

That's a shame. Superman's comics sucked, but Morrison actually managed to make Electric Supes not a total loss in JLA. There's a scene in the second arc where Superman's wrestling Asmodel and you can't help but be like, "New powers, old powers, who the **** cares? This is Superman being about as Superman as he could possibly be, period."Actually, I did. Not for that reason, just that it was a period where I really wasn't into comics... so I missed quite alot of stuff, including the Watchtower days of the JLA.
I just never bothered to go back and read the Electric Supes run.![]()
If he was smart, he did.
Yeah cause capes are cool and super functional too. Remember the JLU (maybe it was the supes) episode where darkseid had a brain washed supes? Darker outfit without a cape. I thought that looked much better.
Not at all. I don't see Lex as much of an elitist at all. Lex, above all else, loves humanity, and his love for them is his undoing. But he doesn't see himself as above the rest, at least not to the point that he can't do a little work himself.Lex should feel getting physical beneath the intellect and skills of someone like himself.
I get what you're saying there, it just always seemed stupid to me. Bat's cape makes sense and he uses it. Supes cape is just an easy way for tanks to grab him and whip him around. Long as the S is still there he's the same symbol to me.
Oh but one more change, instead of Supes secret identity being protected by glasses give him the ability to expend some of his energy becoming a smaller and weaker looking human. That way I can still think of Lex as a genius, it's always been a strain to think he was smart but couldn't figure out the same picture in the byline of the writer is the same picture of supes.
Yes, because darker is ALWAYS better. We like things grim 'n' gritty, we don't like heroic heroes, we want a postmodern muck and mire and sludge of slippery morals and questionable ethics! **** heroism, we want meaningless battles between evil and less-bad.Yeah cause capes are cool and super functional too. Read a lot of Marvel, don't you?
Not really like DC doesn't have more than its share of that stuff now, too. I'm still waiting for the brighter, sunnier DCU that was supposed to come about post-IC.![]()

Wow, that's about the most out of context statement I've ever read. I write how I liked a capeless Supes costume better than a caped supe and I get that as a response? Really, are you @hitting me or do you really not get the difference between a choice of fashion and a choice of character?
Think then write, it'll come out better.

Was I exaggerating? Perhaps. But I find that the push for a darker outfit belies a broader push for a darker character.

The reason he kills so many of them is that for all his intelligence, he's a ****ing idiot who's just too damned emotional to ever allow his genius to reach its potential. And this is why he kills so many of them?

Is your avatar intentionally selected to make people feel condescended to? That sounds like I'm being pissy, but it's just like a statement. Anything you say, I automatically feel double-owned, because of those rolling eyes.
