Last issue: "DC is generally pretty good"? I guess you haven't seen Countdown yet, huh?

After 70 years worth of comics, Countdown could be the biggest piece of **** in the world and his statement would still hold true.

Besides, so many aspects of Civil War are ridiculous it's best not to get into it right now.

First off a quick thanks: It's fun to start off my morning explaining what a jack@ss you are, it gives me a added purpose in this life.
Really not wanting to let this go, are we? Break up with a girlfriend? Fighting with a friend? Do you just need to take out some tension? I'm glad to be that outlet for you, but I'd appreciate knowing what exactly it is that makes you keep going on and on about this.

Ok, you mistook what I originally said, I explained myself, that wasn't enough so why did you just keep going on about dark characters after I clearly explained that wasn't what was meant?
I had this crazy idea where I was going to explain why I jumped on you so quickly, as if maybe we could come to an understanding of each other's positions, like adults. But I guess there's only one of those here, and it ain't you.

moraldeficiency said:
So you're angry about the tastes of comic readers and you're on the prowl
No, just on edge. Not THE edge. Just edge.

moraldeficiency said:
Get a grip, comics go through trends same as everything else and guess what? They weren't designed solely for your benefit.
I'm aware of that. I still think the majority of comics fans are dumbasses.

You make generalized statements about how one company blows then go on about you're reading several of the books?
Yes, the key there is GENERAL. GENERALLY, Marvel sucks. There are a few books that are good, but generally, I have always found that I don't like Marvel at all. Cap has been good for a long time, and Ghost Rider has always been near and dear to me. The X-Men, I've suddenly found, don't suck nearly as much as I thought they did. The rest of it, current and past, and probably future, tends to be hogwash, and with Joe Q at the helm, it won't get much better.

I'd really like to know how you loved AA since you seem to despise violence for violence's sake.
AA?...Alcoholics Anonymous? I feel like I should probably know what you're referring to, but it's just not coming to me.

I obviously have, as I've been commenting on it in other threads. It's not as good as I'd hoped, but it's getting better, I feel, and has still been OK. Better than Aquaman's OYL arc, for example. And you know what, still better than CW and WWH.

You're the one that jumped on me and won't let up.

That is a crazy idea, adult's bicker far more than children. Look at any politician or lawyer.

Generally? I would have to say generally every comic company sucks since they put out more bad than good. Yes this includes your precious DC. BTW if you're liking the X books then that's like half of Marvel, throw in Cap and GH (though that's been sucking serious @ss recently) and you generally like marvel as you'd like more than you disliked.

Amazon's Attack, the crappiest tie-in I've ever read, and since that includes onslaught that's saying a lot. Thought you were a DC fan, kid.

Countdown better than Civil War? I'm not sure, I remember things happening in Civil War. Say what you want, I like to see people doing things in my comics. WWH sucks but as much as I hate it, at lest I've seen events happen within the book and the story has actually moved, so it's slightly better than countdown to crap.

Go back and read my posts. I backed off my position quite quickly, and switched to a "hey, my mistake, simmer down" mode.

That's all the excuse you need then.

Groupthink. It's not nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

I tried to put it out of my mind.

Endangered Species. Jack-dick has happened in Endangered Species, but it's still a great story. A story doesn't have to be Crisis on Infinite Earths to be good.

SUPERMAN-Well, I would make it a combanation of all Superman lore. Superman came from an advanced civilasation, where they advanced to the peak of human perfection. They could leap 1/8th of a mile and had strength and senses beyond earth humans. On planet earth he had the same powers as the other kryptonians, but due to earths yellow sun and much lesser gravity, his leaping abilty slowly became flight, his strength increasd, gained heat vision, x-ray vision, etc etc. Lex Luthors origin was the same as birthright. Even though Clark wasnt Superboy, the legion of superheroes recruited him and set him into the future where he was Superboy in the future and when he came back to earth he took the suit with him, making a time paradox. at the age of 26 he gets a job at the Daily Planet and becomes Superman.

Ill post my version of the other heroes later.

No, you still were ranting about how darkening characters suck.

No AA was worse. Pointless violence for violence's sake (something you claim to hate) characters acting insanely out of character (something that seems to have bothered you during Civil War). Shock art to get people's attention rather than story progression (that's just a @hitty copout to having to write a better story). And an ending which undermined everything. I try to forget @rap too, but I still know it happened.

I didn't like ES because of that. I also hated all the Crisis storylines, SBP is just as stupid as the Sentry in my book. I mainly think a story has to be well written with a point and people doing things to be good.

They killed the real Superman in the last Crisis :(

If DC would reboot it's universe from scratch again, how would you do of each the big seven?

Superman

I would do him a lot like Stan Lee did in Just Imagine....He would be an adult cop, Krypton would have a higher gravity, thus giving Kal super strenght when he arrived to earth....He would come chasing Zod, who did somethign resulting in the destruction of krypton.

Bats would be pretty much the exact same.

Wonder Woman

WW would be very very very similar

Martian Manhunter

MM would be kinda the same...same powers and stuff, he would still be the last surviving Martian, but he would be a bad guy. Like an evil bounty hunter or maybe the Mars equivelant to a crooked business man, he would make a deal with the white martians to make himself some huge Mars money, and it would result in the killing off of his entire race, he goes to earth but is recked with guilt and from that becomes a hero to his new home.

Green Lantern

Green Lantern would be an astronaut, there was an accident and his ship was destoryed, the Green lantern od sector 2413...(or whatever earths is)...Abin sur I guess....comes to the rescue but it too late and only manages to save Hal Jordan...For whatever reason Hal opts to not go to earth. He becomes something of a Flash Jordan type character, having space adventures and crap, until the day comes again when he meets up with Abin Sur, they team up and Sur is killed by.....let's say Darkseid. Hal get's the ring and assumes the role of GL, Darkseid is going to attack earth, Hal gets officially inducted into the GL Corps, the corps defeat Darkseid and Hal returns to Earth.

The Flash

Very SImilar, I love that barry was a Police scientist.....

Relatively the same, but this time Arthur is not the Ruler of atlantis, but merely a peasent who sneaks away to the surface world to fight crime, should any of his atlantean friends find out he will be killed for venturing to the surface world.

I like your GL idea.

Thanks....But if I were to write "ultimate Green lantern" as it were, it would honestly be a couple years until Hal Actually becomes a GL...but in that time I would set up the history of the Corps and introduce other GLs and stuff

I do miss Barry as Flash. The police scientist, girlfriend Iris, I just liked the whole thing...

There was a news report saying that DC was dissapointed with the sales of countdown and was actually going to bring in well known writers..and the current writers might be fired.Does anyone have that link?
