Superman - Same

Batman - Same

Wonder Woman - Lose the Diana Prince deal

Martian Manhunter - keep the new costume, lose the emo.

Green Lantern - same

The Flash - same

& Aquaman - I'd change a lot, but i'll go into that later when Heroes is not on.

......

Superman - Same.

Batman - Same.

Wonder Woman - Golden Age version (i.e., has an alter ego that isn't just some kind of inside joke that isn't funny.)

Martian Manhunter - The way he should be (i.e., lose the stupid new costume. I think he's already lost the dumb new attitude.)

Green Lantern - Same.

The Flash - Same.

& Aquaman - Same.

There is no need to **** with these characters. The whole idea that good writing is somehow changing classic characters is part of what makes comics so ****ing dense and difficult to get into for new readers.

Agreed, except I'd make Superman the sole survivor of Krypton again.

Superman is bi?

Superman

One of the three remaining Kryptonians in the universe (alongside a Supergirl who is not written as a total idiot and Power Girl). Krypton would be a combination of Donner's Krypton and Timm/Dinis' Krypton (visually like Donner's Krypton shown in recent Action Comics stories, but the Kryptonians would be like TAS where they aren't completely cold and emotionless, also they would be too dependent on Brainiac).

NO pre-Superman Superboy adventures and no Legion of Superheroes. I find Clark Kent as Superboy to be lame IMO. Superman's childhood in Smallville should completely be about Clark Kent growing up under the virtues of Johnathan and Martha Kent, his true parents (to him Jor-El and Lara are his biological parents, but that's who they are Jor-El and Lara).

And I'd have a love triangle between Superman, Clark Kent, and Lois Lane.

Lex Luthor - The business tycoon that loathes Superman because as Lex said in Birthright, he looked down upon him like one of the ants. As he said in Superman Returns, he feels that Superman is a god who doesn't share his power with mankind. He thinks that only humanity can save humanity, not some outside alien. He develops an obsessive desire to destroy Superman but Superman can't do anything to stop him because he has Metropolis in his hands.

Brainiac - Vril Dox, gains posession of the Kryptonian Brainiac and becomes the supervillain we all know. Attempts to find a solution to completely get rid of his organics, like the complete opposite of Bicentennial Man.

General Zod - same as the Superman II version, but even more ruthless and brutal.

Metallo - no changes at all

Bizarro - a failed attempt to clone Superman, no Bizarro World or anything like that. Blue Kryptonite is designed by Lex Luthor to control him.

Fortress of Solitude - See Action Comics Annual #10

SORRY! Aristotle, I thought you meant keep Superman the same as he is now.
Wasn't meant to sound angry at you, more angry at the ****s who seem intent on making everything about Superman as different as possible to "revitalize" him, when anyone can see that the problem is that they don't get decent writers. Stick Grant Morrison on his books forever, and be done with it.

I'd make Superman a socialist ass-kicker who solves the little guy's problems with violence.

I'd have Wonder Woman go beat up wife-beaters and deadbeat dads and I don't know, The Patriarchy. ****, that'd be her new supervillain. The Patriarchy.

Batman... Well, Batman beats up muggers and things. I mean, it's what he's for.

Green Lantern would be space-cop adventure stories.

I'd rename MM "The Alien" and play him as an immigrant story. He enters America in human guise as a political refugee from a war-torn country (when really he's a political refugee from a war-torn planet), puts in for asylum, and takes up life in an immigrant slum, where he secretly uses his Martian powers to right wrongs among the tired, the poor, and the huddled masses yearning to breathe free.

I can't think of a thematically appropriate source of conflict for a guy that runs really fast, and I'd have Aquaman protect the environment but then he'd just turn into Captain Planet, and I mean, **** Captain Planet. So those two are on hold.

Also, everyone for all intents and purposes occupies his own comic-book universe.

I figure instead of dickering around with the miscellaneous errata of origin stories and power levels, I'd focus on giving the characters some kind of actual dramatic purpose, past "beats up the interchangeable space-monster of the week."

I would do the same but I might keep the Superboy in the Legion of Superheroes stories but I would have Saturn Girl wipe his memories of it all.

Agreed, except I'd make Superman the sole survivor of Krypton again.
I have to agree with that. I like Supergirl and all but I like how Timm had her come from Krypton's sister planet and Superman found her and took her in and treated her like family. I think Superman should always be the sole survivor of Krypton with the exception of the people in the Phantom Zone. I would also depower Superman much like how Man Of Steel did to the point where Superman can help land a plane but be hurt by a nuke or something along those lines.

However I still think DC should just end the All-Star line a create an Ultimate line where there they can start all over again.

Superman - I'd mix some of elements Byrne introduced and tell the kinds of stories Morrison is doing in All-Star Superman.

Batman - Get Dini to do exactly what he did in BTAS.

Wonder Woman - No secret identity.

Martian Manhunter - The heart of the JLA. Loves Oreos. 'Nuff said.

Green Lantern - Alan Scott.

The Flash - Mark Waid. Wally West.

Aquaman - NOT the raging pile of emo-ness that I've seen in recent years. I'd make a noble king again.

That what I would do with Kara make her Kara In-Ze from Krypton's "sister" planet Argo. But instead of taking on the mantle of Supergirl she'd become Power Girl to distinguish herself from Superman, and she would havr slightly different powers then Supes.

Superman - Give Superman and Lois their own child with Mxyzptlk's help, just as Rucka was hinting at in his run. Also, bring back Conner Kent and Matrix, and make them, Power Girl, and Steel more of an extended family to Clark.

Batman - Bring back the Gotham Central police officers and use some of them instead of dealing solely with Gordon and Bullock. Have Dini write everything. Make Tim his own person again instead of a miniature clone of Bruce.

Wonder Woman - Make her less of a ******. I don't really mind the Diana Prince thing, though. I even kind of like Nemesis. Bring back more of a mythological influence alongside the political espionage stuff, though.

Martian Manhunter - For God's sake, put him on the JLA. Agree with Anubis on the rest: keep the costume, lose the emo. Though that seems to be the way they're going anyway.

Green Lantern - Ditch Hal and the Parallax fear demon, make John and Guy the sector Lanterns for 2814, keep Kyle as Ion and continue with the "troubleshooter" role he's got, and give Alan Scott more of a presence alongside Kyle. Everything else is fine.

Flash - Waid's doing pretty well.

Aquaman - Reveal that the Aquanewb is just a piece of Orin that splintered off, rejoin them, keep the water hand and Aquanewb's costume, keep the Arthurian, magical overtones, return him to his rightful place as an arrogant yet noble king, add Sub Diego to his kingdom, restore Tempest to a powerful sorcerer and make him Orin's chief advisor, keep Lorena around.

:whatever: talk about a waste of talent. there are other books that exist that can use a talented writer such as dini.

him and rags morales on hawkman would be awesome!!

But... why? Dini was made for Batman, and Batman deserves good comics before Hawkstupidman.

Don't sweat it, dude. GAH's opinions don't matter around here.

Yeah, I know, but sometimes I humor him. It's like sniffing that black marker when you were a kid--you know it smells like ass, but you can't help it.

The regular one or the scented one that smells like liquorice?

They both smell like ass to me, but I guess the regular permanent black ones are more appropriate, really, since they give you about as much brain damage as your average conversation with GAH.

Damn, dude. You're taking these mother****ers down left and right, today.

Agreed with everything. :up::up:
