Captain America 3 is being rumoured to follow the 'Civil War' story line, featuring Iron Man and an arc where 'Superheroes' are required to present themselves to the government, get registered and act accordingly - an obvious Capt America V Iron Man movie is in the works.

This will have obvious comparisons to Batman Vs Superman.

A government wanting to control a superhero, others stepping out of the shadows and a VS moment.

We can argue who initially came up with this idea first and who dropped the bat, if at all.

Who would be seen as the copiers? I'm sure this will be discussed.

This could get interesting - whilst i believe Marvel have the upper hand so far, due to their filmography to date - if WB get this right, they can knock the ball out the park and begin creating a shared universe which could be superior to Marvel and i guess, due to Marvel having stand alone movies, would maybe need to progress into shared movies to keep it relevant?

DC - First real 'vs' movie, followed by a female led film - could the tide be turning?

Everyone likes a challenge.

Unless Marvel gets Spidey, I don't care about Cap 3 or Civil War.

We really don't need his DC v Marvel crap.

Yea- I always get sucked into the comparison trap. Even though I love both marvel and dc- batman and superman are by far my favorites. I never really try to blow flames at marvel due to my love of bats and Supes- I mostly just want WB to pick up the pace. Ehh... Fanboys... Never happy. :hehe:

Dude think about it... the recent rumors could be indicative of Spidey being in CAP3.

How amazing would that be?

Those rumors would make sense now, and he is one of the 3 main characters of the storyline.

Anyway unlike other people here think i dont like to going Marvel vs DC, i love them both. But it will be curious to see DCs next move

Put a gun to my head, I'm a DC guy. But I just love comics in general and see all the movies, regardless. I do hope DC can move onto colossal Marvel-esque box office with their shared universe because that means I get to see more of my fav characters onscreen. That said, Marvel has proven they can turn B-list heroes into A-list movie stars. In future phases, Marvel plans to transform other B characters into mainstream successes, too. I don't doubt they will!

I have to wonder if DC will ever promote heroes except for their core Justice Leaguers, who are mostly already household names (by promote, I wonder if someone like Animal Man could get his own movie like Antman already is). Meanwhile, Marvel has clearly managed to make a little-known group with a talking raccoon into the biggest film of the year.

I do believe BvS will be a game-changer. But not convinced any DC heroes other than the most popular will be properly promoted on the silver screen.

I'm getting tired of the DC vs. Marvel flame war. It started in earnest with WB moving BVS to May 6, 2016 against CA3, died down when WB moved it to spring, and now it's sprung up again with RDJ joining CA3.

*sigh*

Now fans are saying CA3 will definitely beat BVS. More likely, WB got wind of RDJ's negotiations for CA3 and reconsidered their May 2016 date.

Marvel vs. DC? Who gives a ****? I'm gonna see both movies, probably enjoy both of them, be glad that their spaced out release dates should prevent them from both not doing as well as they could, and continue to find threads/conversations about this topic stupid.

it most definitely did not start when bvs moved to the same slot of the unannounced marvel movie that later came to be known as civil war. and it's not like marvel wasn't happy to fill in the slot bvs vacated with ant-man after after dc decided to move it bvs so why did it matter?

Marvel and DC have been at war for years, before any cinematic universes. It will defiantly only get worse when all the new DC releases are announced

Competition is not same thing as war, are you trying to get posters worked up over this ?

I meant that's when it intensified (WB moving from July 2015 to May 2016), died down (WB moved it to March), and then intensified again (RDJ co-starring in CA3). Competition is fine, but it's overzealous fanboys who put down one side while exalting the other. It's tacky.

Because it'll come out before CA3, BVS has the luxury of being first -- and people will likely look at it more favorably. That's a generally consistent point Scott Mendelson made for summer movies dating back almost two decades ago. Twister, The Matrix, Deep Impact, The Avengers, Iron Man...

I didn't mean literal war, they are the 2 biggest publishing comic company's in the world, they have been at each other for years. Sorry for my grammar, if you prefer competition ok, but they have been like this before the movies and they will continue after their popularity dies out

Keep believing that.

So there is no rivalry? they behaved like children with all this date changes, and in comics they have gone back and forward for years. Overall i think its pretty amicable , Geff Johns and Feige know each other and are friends and even Stan Lee did some work in DC (which wasnt very good), but there is that rivalry. War maybe too strong of a word, it was just to make a point

Or to try to start a flame war, but, again, you keep believing that.

:huh: do you have issues with me man? at this point is all i can think of. I don't even know what a flame war is, sorry for my ignorance, English is not my first language so some expressions are unknown to me, but no, im not starting anything.
