CONVERGENCE #0
Written by DAN JURGENS and JEFF KING

Advance solicit • On sale APRIL 1 • 40 pg, FC, $4.99 US RATED T

Where do worlds go when they die?

The Earthquakes felt round the Multiverse, Superman’s lost days after “Doomed,” the World’s End – all these points will converge as the history of the DCU is spun from a new perspective, the perspective of a mad god and his arrogant child. The biggest story in DC history ties into literally every DC story ever told – and it all begins here.

Kingdom Come, Red Son, Wild West Justice League, Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew – all the worlds you remember can still be found on Telos. Everything matters. Every story matters.

Don’t miss the start of DC’s April/May 2015 event with this special issue!

Exactly. As if Jurgens didn't spend years writing some of the more readable post-crisis Superman or most of the excellent previous volume of Booster Gold.

This coming from someone who enjoyed a lot of Lobdell's new 52 Superman and Red Hood & the Outlaws too. I mean despite all that Jurgens still looks like Will Eisner next to Lobdell and actually has a greater understanding of DCs overall history than most. Especially the last 25 years. So he's actually pretty appropriate for this kind of story.

He's also familiar with that kind of story since he wrote Zero Hour.

Don't be acting like the majority opinion when you're clearly in the minority. DC's sales are still better than they ever were before Flashpoint. While some of the changes DC brought are rather cringeworthy, the New 52 was a necessary thing that needed to be done. DC has always been revamping their continuity every 25 years or so (in the 1960's with the Silver Age and in the 1980's with Crisis on Infinite Earths) so this is nothing new. DC needed something to reinvigorate their sales and the New 52 has been a massive success in that regard (at one point,

The majority of the titles launched in September 2011 have been cancelled by now haven't they?

I don't see Jay Garrick?

Old school JSA will be covered during this event. So you'll see him eventually.

New 52 Earth-2 characters will play very prominent roles in this story as well so you'll get double the Garrick eventually since New 52 Earth-2 Flash will also be around.

"Convergence is the sum of its parts, I'd say it all starts there. Remember 2015 is the thirtieth anniversary of that event [Crisis on Infinite Earths]. Zero Hour, Red Son and Kingdom Come each have important clues as does Geoff Johns’ seminal work on Flashpoint too."- Jeff King

Babs Tarr's cover for Superboy is fantastic! Also, that Booster Gold cover! :hubba

Rucka writing Montoya again is the only thing that excites me. I want that so bad.

how many titles have DC launched since the new 52 and how many of them have resulted in being cancelled?

The majority of the titles launched in September 2011 have been cancelled by now haven't they?
Let's see:

1. Action Comics
2. Aquaman
3. Batgirl
4. Batman
5. Batman & Robin
6. Catwoman
7. Detective Comics
8. the Flash
9. Green Arrow
10. Green Lantern
11. Justice League
12. Justice League Dark
13. Red Hood and the Outlaws
14. Supergirl
15. Superman
16. Wonder Woman

But you also have to keep in mind that a lot of titles like Batman: The Dark Knight, Nightwing, Teen Titans, Suicide Squad, Justice League International, and Animal Man were not cancelled due to low sales but due to changes in creative direction or stories coming to their natural conclusion. A lot of Batman and Green Lantern books would still be around if they weren't naturally ended or a new creative direction didn't take place.
