DC's: The New Frontier

dunno, it's hard to pinpoint. Ollie is unquestionably older than most of the other league members, but I dunno by how much

He's at least ten years older than Dinah, by the way he's described their relationship in the past. Maybe more. I'd say he conceived Connor back when he was a brash young college student well before he was stranded on the island as a brash 30-something billionare.

Pretty much my favourite Elseworlds at the moment.
Cooke actually intentionally left the ELSEWORLDS logo off that book. He said it fits into whatever continuity you want. It is not an ELSEWORLDS though.

GNR, you can have mine

what're you offering?

That's kinda impossible considering dates were actually used placing the events way back in the 40's and 50's. Theres noway it could fit into todays continuity.

I thought the elseworlds thing was just a matter of the line being discontinued when it was published. Hence, lack of elseworlds label. I dont even think reprints of classic Elseworlds like Kingdom Come carry the logo.

I hardly ever use the label Elseworlds to the line of works featuring the Elseworlds label, if that makes sense. New Frontier is an out-of-continuity work, and thus, an Elseworlds.

I always thought this would make a great cartoon, this and Crisis on Infinate Earths, and it looks like they will make them.
New Frontier first, Crisis MAYBE sometime in the future and maybe Kingdom Come too.

If only I could work at the WB on these shows in some way.

The Absolute Edition of DC: The New Frontier is scheduled to be out on November 8th. Unless, the release date has changed.

It's not "impossible" I am telling you what Cooke said in an interview.

Well then Cooke is full of s**t if thats the case. You sure he wasn't talking about something else? Like maybe his Batman/Spirit crossover?

Yeah, Cooke was on Morrison's drugs.

Then obviously he can't withstand them, because at least with Morrison, his insane things make some sense. :o

Bought this in comic form a while ago online.

Great story, definitely up there with my favs (Kingdom Come,Golden Age and JLA Year One)

Was this an Elseworlds?

I took it as an Elseworlds.
Can anyone tell me if the absolute edition is any good, I mean of coarse its good.
Whats in it? ...Besides the New Frontier comic?

All Cooke said was that the continuity was for you to decide; but he made sure it wasn't an Elseworlds because that would be deciding for you. (I think this is what he said, I don't remember where it was)

BAM!

I found the quote of Cooke saying why it is NOT an Elseworlds:

"NASO: When I describe the story of NF to friends, they usually ask me, “Is it an Elseworlds book?” This has been a tough question to answer because NF doesn’t exactly fit in with DC continuity, but at the same time it does portray the original characters. So, how does your book fit in with the DC Universe, if at all?

COOKE: I put it this way: However you want it to. The book was purposefully constructed without a label, so each reader can see it fit however they want. As Paul, Dan and Mark all told me, just tell a killer story. That being said, I personally see it as a legitimate pre-crisis piece of DCU history. It doesn't contradict anything major from the time, and the book wraps very neatly at the beginning of the pre-crisis JLA. But if I were you, I'd email the anti-monitor for the real answer."
