The most famous case is obviously Cyclops ditching his wife and kid when he found out Jean Grey was alive, and he was brought down as a character somewhat for it, but it would still be nice for him to show some more shame for it every once and a while.
Other, more murky and less clear cut cases are Colossus having a kid unknown to him from that trip to the savage land and the writers (not the unbeknownst Colossus) not taking respibility for introducing that, as well as the similar case of Longshot and Dazzlers at-one-time unborn baby. Was it ever officially established that she had a misscariage or is that just retcon speculation ?
There's just something sort of dick-ish on the writers part in my opinion when it comes to this stuff. They can't seem to ever stop creating new characters with no previous relationship or necessary relevance to the existing ones, but you can't take care of this dark cloud over supposedly riteous characters on riteous paths we have affection for? I also think it would be an interesting storyline.
And yes, I do have a degree of affection for Longshot and Dazzler and think they inhabit a nicely non-oversaturated portion of the X-Men zeitgeist.
